Potch, I have to say that I noticed that you are a maniac for walkthroghs.
Don't you know that using walkthroughs is a DISGRACE!!!11!!one!
j/k
Seriously, are you sure you want to play adventure games by reading the walkthrough. Using crutches even when it's smooth walk.
Personally, I am saddened(?) of myself when I use the WT, because i feel that I'm not on the level of solving the puzzle (be it lack of patience or something else. usually the first.), and when i pass a puzzle by using a WT, i feel empty...

What I wanted to ask, is do you really enjoy more using a walkthrough than playing it by yourself, or something like that...
;)

I just don't like to wander around aimlessly for a long time.Ã,  It gets boring to me.Ã,  Maybe I just don't have enough patience, but I don't feel bad when I use a walkthrough.Ã,  And I don't follow it word for word either.Ã,  I try to figure it out on my own, and if i can't, then I read until I come to something I didn't do.Ã,  I woudl rather have a walkthrough to a game, then have to sit around and wait for someone to post a hint on the boards.Ã,  I always check the board first for hints, but sometimes it takes days or even weeks for someone to respond, and I just don't want to wait that long.   I mean, especially on this game.  There were quite a few puzzles in it that I NEVER would have figured out on my own, and everybody else was having just as much trouble as I was.  I've already had five people ask me to email them the walkthrough.
The hardest thing in this world... is to live in it. (Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers in "The Gift")

In a way you are right, but where we differ is the point where i would rather not have a walkthrough, or even want their existance, because they are too tempting in a point of weakness.

Now, let's get back to the game.  :)

Err, i cant seem to DL it...

i agree with Potch :)

I have to agree with Potch on this too, this was a well done game, the graphics were great but I spend hours trying to get things that were not needed, but the message that was given when I looked at things made it sound like they were needed. I got the walkthrough too, I don't think I would ever figure some of the stuff out without it. Also there is no way to get somebody to repeat what they have said to you and they say it so quickly its hard to remember what all they said.
Czar I hope you get through it without hints, you might just be pulling your hair out like some of us were  :)

(whisper) Hello, this is me, Geoffkhan speaking. I'm posting this for my friend, Pijin.

-----------

My game is called ROBOTRAGEDY, and is the story of a little robot who can't go to the living room to see the show of Robotinna, a robotic singer our little buddy loves.

This is not the whole game.

Once he gets to the living room he sees on the TV that Robotinna has been kidnapped and then he goes out to rescue her.

I know the story is not original. First I was too afraid of the engine since I don't know anything of scripting but when I finished the part of going to the living room I realized the job I did wasn't too bad because I found my way around using the windows interface and most of all: imagination. I did a lot of animations and every thing Toby, the robot does, is animated -- from beaming up the objects he needs to cutting a fishing line.

So I thought, why leave the game so short when I can make it longer and better, and if with all this hard job I will make another game in one orÃ,  two years, depends of the acceptance of the first one, I decide it to go for a longer run. Both the escaping part and the rescue-the-girl-in-distress-routine are not originals, I know but when I finished the escaping part I didn't feel so strong as to let it go and make something new so I choose to blend it with the rescue part that I designed it to be the second chapter.

Enjoy!

Hi Geoffkhan,

this is Martina from Germany.

First of all, Congratulations for this game! It's great, but so hard!
I did not even manage to get out of the door and if I read the hints and tips at the forums, I would like to finish this game!!
Please let us have a walkthrough, we would all be thankful.

kind regards from Germany

I am not sure it this one is supposed to work like this in the game:
at the bath I cannot fix the door opener with my rope&lasso, but when I go to the right of the screen, I can enter through the closed door. When I exit, the door rope is fixed with my rope&lasso, but I countinue to have it in my inventory.
When I exit that room, and re-enter it, The door is not any more fixed, but I can go through it.

I do like to wander around in a game unless of course it's a dungeon or maze / "battle every five seconds" rpg sorta thing.
It's funny that I keep saying I am so into rpgs but I hate them too 'cause they almost always have a maze / dungeon crawling feature / areas and battles every five seconds.
I'd rather just chat with characters , play with stuff , and explore the world.

I must say that I'm very sad that this game is ruined by the unbelievable bad puzzles.. The graphix/sounds/music are really topnotch, but oh my god the puzzles, and I have to admit that I'm not even far into the game (looking at the walkthrough) but so far it has been a real nightmare and sadly to say a complete waste of my time.. I hope the second game is more logical, and I really would urge the creator to redesign the first one (make the flow of the puzzles a bit more logical, which should be possible with the stuff you already have).. I'm still contemplating if I'm gonna finish this one (and that's something I rarely say), but for now I'm gonna leave it..

SuperDre

Well, I decided (after starting and finishing 'What makes you tick') to continue Robotragedy (with the walkthrough very near).. The puzzles seem to get easier after you 'escaped' your room, but still some weird ones.. But I finished it (with more than average having to refer to the walkthrough)..

Without a walkthrough I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is as impatient as me (and there are more than enough of us) and doesn't like very illogical puzzles.. But I must say that it's sad if you don't play it, as it has absolutely beautifull graphix..
