So, anybody find the two Easter eggs yet? ;)

Four days without net? Meh, I had five months of that! Therapy indeed  :P

I dare a bet here:
Easteregg 1 is the portrait of Violette being you?
Easteregg 2 is either the AGS or Cave Story icon on the desktop.

If not, I haven't found one.

ThreeOhFour

Lovely colourful graphics and some cool puzzles - cute music too :). Good work!

I have to say that, while the humor in Spooks was cute, I never actually laughed out loud. However, I laughed a damn lot whilst playing Nanobots :D

Hooray!

All I have to say is:

FUCKING GENIOUS GAME!

I've only played for about ten minutes and I love it. The scripting just slaps the cat's ass (nice choice having Vince - he's a brain all his own), the graphics are beautiful, the storyline and characters are brilliant - I absolutely love this game so far. It is certainly shaping up (rather quickly) to be at least my second favorite AGS game - I don't think I'll ever move Hugos House of Horrors Remake out of the #1 position, though ;)

I just f-ing love NANOBOTS.

//--EDIT--//
Btw, if this doesn't win any awards, I'll be pissed.

After I have downloaded the game I only wanted to look into it for a few minutes to see how the gameplay is like... but I got so bound by it that I sat in front of my computer until I finished it. It is such a great idea linked with a great little story ("All you need is love"). What I liked most were not only the different abilities of the Nanobots but there different characters, which made the game really funny. Thank you very much for such a well written, drawn and programmed game, set to some very good music

Wow this has been a good week for me. Thanks for all the feedback errrybody. :)

@Ghost: nope, neither of those are the Easter eggs. I'll give you a hint though.

Spoiler
For one of them, you have to figure out what Hotbot is carrying in his little drawer thing.

Although I guess the 911 dialing could be counted among the Easter eggs as well...so make that 3 total. Maybe I should have added a number for the Ghostbusters...

@Ben304: thanks man! I appreciate the "Hooray." :) P.S. I've downloaded your OROW game...hopefully I'll have time to play through it (and the others) this weekend.

@Snake: Whoa, thanks!! I'm glad Nanobots was such a hit. :) BTW I've also got "Castle of Fire" downloaded, to be played whenever I find some spare time (any day now...).

Also: what a delightful bit of slang. ;)

@FrasierCrane: Cool! Glad the game was so engrossing. Heh, I know the "all you need is love" thing is a bit cheesy, but hey, so is everything else in that game. ;)

Makeout Patrol

This game is fantastic. It's original, well-designed, well-drawn, and most importantly, plenty of fun. I got stuck a couple of times, but there weren't any points where I was too frustrated to continue playing. I would love to play more games like this one.

glennpfc

Signed up just to say this game was amazing!

When I was young I fell in love with Monkey Island and Simon the Sorcerer and this rekindled those memories :)

Very funny, very clever and very compelling!

It's better than plenty of games I have paid for recently.

Thanks for making a great game and making me smile :)....any chance we will see the nanobots again one day?

Ultra Magnus

'Twas a really cool game. Good concept, great writing.
Give me a tiny sassy female robot and I'm happy.
Plus, the mini-game was a nice touch.

Very much well done, and I'll be watching out for your next offering.
I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

I'm tired of pretending I'm not bitchin', a total frickin' rock star from Mars.

I've just updated the downloads to version 1.1.

If you've already finished the game, you probably don't care unless you're a collector.  If you're mid-play-through, only switch to this version if you don't mind starting over because the saves won't work, sorry!  If you've downloaded the game and haven't started yet, definitely download this new version.

If you don't know which version you have, check the included .txt file.  Version 1.1 has a list of the changes.

There were only five bugs (four quite minor) found, and absolutely zero dead ends (Even though people kept insisting they had found one!  There aren't any!!!  :P)

I've fixed the five bugs in this new version.  The only bug worth mentioning is the formula for making the first chemical.  I'm putting an explanation here because it confused a lot of people but I'm putting it in spoilers to protect people who haven't played yet:

Spoiler
When making the acid, you're instructed to bring two units of purple to a boil.  In the code, it checks that you're boiling just purple and then sets a variable that allows you to move onto the next step (adding the yellow).  Unfortunately, when fixing a bug in RC1 during beta testing, I mucked up the part of that check that is supposed to check how much purple was in the beaker.  And since this had been thoroughly tested before, it didn't get proper testing after I made the change, so it slipped by us!

So, the people that were of the thinking that 2 red + 2 blue = 2 purple were able to successfully complete the acid, when they should have been left with brown.  This caused a lot of them to go on to the second chemical with the same mis-interpretation of the chemical recipes and be very confused when it didn't work!

As a side effect, having nothing in the beaker also worked, since it was just checking that there was nothing other than purple in there!  So boiling an empty beaker left you with purple in the beaker.

In version 1.1, the acid recipe (rightly) requires two parts purple and one part yellow.  Two parts purple is made by mixing one red with one blue, since 1+1=2.

I hope this clears up all confusion on this pretty major bug!

Hopefully the game is all clean now.  I've got to say, with all the wacky stuff going on in this game courtesy of Ivy's zany mind, this is the most complicated game I've ever programmed (17665 lines of code if you're counting!) and I'm pleased that so few bugs managed to slip past us!

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone!

The Ivy

Dear god. I think 17665 lines of code gives you the right to call me something stronger than "zany" ;).

BlackDragon1200

Really fun game, but as someone who is colour blind (even if only minorly) i have to say that for me the chemical puzzles were much harder then they should have been. Maybe something to keep in mind for next time.

But besides that, great game.
Fear is the mind killer...

sergiocornaga

This is a fantastic game, definitely one of the most innovative adventure games I have ever played. I enjoyed it a lot, you should be very proud of it Vince and Ivy. No luck finding the Easter eggs yet though...

Just played.
Cracking game, thanks very much.

Great game!

Found a typo: when Tallbot tries to use the necklace on something: Tallbot does not thing that ... --> think?

Other than that... great interaction between all personalities... Great work (also from Vince & Chris of course).

Wow, Finally beat the game. I need a lot of time between the visits to Hints & tips and my problems with the computer... but finally do the last action and complete the game.

Spoiler

The scene after credits is awesome ^_^

But I expect a final chit-chat between nanobots...

Is one of the more satisfactory short games I played in AGS, maybe the combination of this LOT of characters with simple but unique powers that I love from adventure games. And the difficulty of some puzzles (the chemicals essentially) make the game nearby a medium long game.

I thing the more glorius thing now can pass is the next logical Step; Nanobots in the city! A medium or full game with some thrill and adventure of the nanobots making his way in a lot of places. Well, at least, the interactivy script is already done! xD

Congratulations for this fantastic game, hope to see new games from you (and excellent scripts from Vince), or, as i said, the second part! xD

Superb game, thanks Ivy and Vince!
The premise reminded me a little of Infocom's Suspended, but this was much easier to get into and just downright fun.
Great work. Hooray for the beta testers too!
