Do your Wednesdays feel joyless and empty now Parliament’s in its summer recess? Does 12 o’clock pass without event, leaving you deflated and depressed?

Prime Minister’s Questions is every political nut’s favourite time of the week and we all deserve to enjoy it whenever we want.

With that in mind, Pixel Politics has come up with PRIME MINISTER’S QUESTIONS: THE GAME. Play as the prime minister in this satirical, retro style game as he faces his weekly grilling from Her Majesty’s Opposition.

With sound effects by Matthew Brown.

Brilliant!  I can't wait to try this tonight!

My hat goes off to you, Markbilly. I've been trying to think of a way to make a PMQ/Prime Minister's Questions joke for weeks now...

Good job Mark
"I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe. Destroyed pigeon nests on the roof of the toolshed. I watched dead mice glitter in the dark, near the rain gutter trap.
All those moments... will be lost... in time, like tears... in... rain."

Excellent.

I can see an extended spinoff where you work your way up the political chain BS-ing and swearing your way up the party ladder (in a Thick Of It like manner), before hilariously trying to spin your way out of a major f-up using very little information whatsoever. And a very careful selection of words...

I enjoyed this very much.  Short and sweet.

That would take an incalculable amount of research! :P

Thanks for all the great comments, everyone!

Quirky, but brilliant.

If the BBC don't give you (and AGS) some column inches for this, I demand my license fee back.

This is awesome.
Some of the speech samples cut off a bit abruptly, and the question and answer feel odd in total silence, but that's hard to fix without either Banjo-Kazooie style samples or full voice support (!).
I look forward to playing this further later tonight!
Still waiting for Purity of the Surf II

Haha, lovely. I played this twice.  First time I failed miserable.  Second time I kicked ass.... Although you should be able to choose your party... I may have won, but I won as David Cameron, which didn't really feel like a win, haha at all.  :-\

Very original, I enjoyed it!

I agree it would be great if this was incorporated into a larger game, some kind of PM simulation perhaps where going to PMQ's was a part of maintaining your reputation in office. Cameroon Tycoon..

YAY, thanks for all the nice feedback! :)

@Stupot: I posted this somewhere else to address the "playing as the enemy problem" and the choosing sides issue:

QuoteFirstly, having Dave as the protagonist was the most sensible and obvious choice from a gameplay perspective and that has to come first.

Secondly, having the player choose questions would be pretty difficult, because then there's no game. You have to be faced with a choice and then try to make the right one for this type of game to work. Having the player's "turn" first makes no sense, unfortunately.

EDIT:

@Dualnames: PHEW!

Very interesting and fun, an awesome little gem. It's nice to see a bit of satire, though I was expecting more cutting stuff, I think. THe sound clips and the graphics and all the little detais are amazing.  I agree with previous posters that it'd make a great sub-game in a longer game - have you ever played Floor 13? It's a nastily fun, incredibly dark and cynical management type game set in a nightmare underbelly of British politics.

PMQ could fit nicely as a short sub section of a game like that, and it's a concept that'd be nice to see updated.

One question, could you explain the Flashman attack? Is it a reference I'm missing or are we talking Harry Paget Flashman here? :)
