Right on!  I've already started playing it!  Got a high score of 1.08.5.  I can post a screenie if you'd like to see some proof!  :P

Also not sure what happened in the one game of Time Attack I was playing.  I quickly broke the triangle then a ball hit me.  I was pushed near the bottom center hole and a ball sunk.  A message popped up saying "FAILED! KNOCKED IN A BALL!".  The cue ball is still on the table too.  Weird.

Edit: I figured it out.  It happens when a ball bounces off your ship and into the pocket.  It adds to the opponents side, even though you're in Time Attack.
Also Beat my score again.  I'm now at 1.06.4.

Yup, that's deliberate! No sneaky cheating by ramming balls into pockets!

Wow, that's way better than my best time (about 1.20)!
[EDIT: Aha! 1.04.0!]

Just because I really enjoy the game and definitely enjoy the challenge, I just gotta say this.... HA!  Beat this score!

Edit: Just beat the 59.1 with a whopping 50.5!!  My goal is to get the impossible 40.0.

Man, on this one game I sunk 5 balls on the first break and couldn't even get under a minute... it was one of the worst aiming games ever, mostly because once I sunk the 5 balls, I was too excited to focus properly.  If I was playing top notch that game, I would have definitely scored less than 50 seconds.

Awesome times!
I have got to put in a replay mode!

I've had this game crashing error twice now.  I'm not sure if the two messages were exactly the same, but they were both memory issues.  This one said:
Error: Out of memory: failed to allocate 69632 bytes (at PP=1004)

I'm not sure if it's my end or the game/AGS itself.

Thanks for the report!
I may have forgotten to release a dynamic sprite at some point. 69k seems large... but we'll see!

Any progress towards 40s? :)

Now this game is really addictive and the space ships angle gives playing pool a whole new dimension. However, I think a great part of the addictiveness is actually the soundtrack.

I didn't mean this in the way that the gameplay is missing anything, just that the music sets a perfect mood for this type of game. :D

Great idea and impressive implementation. Takes me back to the good old days of playing Gravity Force and Turboraketti on the Amiga, though my reflexes seem to have gotten quite a bit slower with age. I expect two-player mode to be wicked fun but haven't had a chance to test it yet.

Thanks for the compliment :) I warned Steve I didn't have my arcade music shoes on at the time (just finishing up a 60 minute soundtrack) so I'm glad you thought it worked! It's only a gaaame so! Sadly I didn't have time to make a particular track into a MIDI, "Snooker Loopy". Steve's idea ;) Maybe for Space Pool Beta.... thanks again!

42.7 is now the highest score I've gotten so far with a double 50.5 in second and third place.  If I didn't screw up on one ball I would have had less than 40 seconds, believe it or not.  :-\

You know what would be super nice?  To have F9 restart the level instead of ESC and then ENTER once the next room loads.  Also ESC doesn't work when you're in a tournament.

New version:
http://www.kweepa.com/step/ags/games/SpacePoolAlpha15.zip

This one includes a replay mode behind the menu for your best time attack time.
Sorry I was too late to add this for your 42.7!

ESC doesn't work in a tournament? Oops. Will fix that next.
F9 to restart? Seems reasonable.

Great game, I really enjoyed this one.

The intro biographies kinda reminded me of Shufflepuck Cafe (definitely a good thing!)  8)

Added a new version to the database:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=1309

Fixed a few bugs:
* sound memory leak, thanks to CJ
* ability to exit from two player mode :O - has no-one played this? :(
* seeding the random number generator before time attack (replays are not forward compatible)
* cleaned up the smallest font
* escape escapes from tournament mode
* err...
* that's it!

Hey Steve & team,

this game rocks!
A really cool idea mixing pool and asteroids, even though I totally suck at playing it :)

Also big thanks for sharing the code - very educational!
