Awww, there's no "your corpse in an ambulance" scene! I wanted to practice my "getting a nice rigor mortis" technique!

There is, want me to tell you how to get the scene?

Thing is, there should be one after
Spoiler
you get hit by a flying house brick as well (by exiting from the front of the house back to the front door without doing anything). They bundle your corpse in an ambulance, and you spend a few turns as a stiff before the Vogons come along to demolish the Earth (pretty sure you know that though!).

But if there is another way as well, feel free!

Umm, the game keeps crashing on me when ever I try to put on the gown.

I can't reproduce this one.... yet. Can you tell me what you did before wearing the gown?

[Update] Reproduced!

This is probably correct, though Davzare, I've pmed you, I want this 1% chance off the system.

In the meantime I'm reuploading with some fixes. All links are updated.
Yes, we beta-tested the game, NO it's like impossible to figure out all possible bugs.

There's no other way. Someone seems to be having fun? ;)

In that case, does it depend on what mode you're playing it in? I like my Arthur silent as in the original game (and the first thing I did was to set things that way), and I've only tried the "normal" difficulty mode so far. Would either of those affect it?

No. There is a button on the options GUI, that says Comments:ON Click on that, and tadda, Arthur will shut it.

EDIT: This can be turned off and on at any point.
EDIT2: Also happy birthday!

Finally!!!

I had to spend the night in the hospital last night so I missed the grand premiere.... but I'm back now, I have a cup of coffee ready and I'm about to see what James Kratos, I mean Spanos, has been up to that last 40 years!:) I expect nothing but total greatness!:)

DrWhite

So the rumors of you changing the game to another engine weren´t true.
Super, downloading now.

I tried the unreal engine for a while, but I had some problem with the alpha channels. :D

I must say I'm loving everything so far, especially the controls and music. Oh, and the inventory items graphics.... And the dolphins in the main menu.

markbilly

Well done on the release, especially such an appropriate one!

I've not played much but it seems to be looking nice so far. LOTS of text, though. I'm guessing it will play a lot nicer when the voice pack gets added...

P.S. The inventory is a puzzle in itself! ;)

Grim

First impressions- it's excellent, indeed:)

When I saw the first screen I panicked a bit, against myself... :)

I've been doing well so far, without using walkthrough, because I really want to crack this game on my own, but I feel I have stumbled upon a dead end:

Spoiler
I didn't get the babel fish until later, after the vogan leader had read his poem. So the autosave puts me now back to when Ford talks to the guard, trying to talk him out of being a guard, and I still don't know the password for the machine/ glass case. I assume once I'm in the airlock it's dead end?( cos using thumb just kills me and nothing else seems to work.... I tried looking at Leon's website but it doesn't explain what the word from the poem is... help!:) :) :) :)

Leon

The word from the poem is random.

Spoiler
You need to press the button to hear which word from the second verse of the poem you need. But you can only understand it after you have the Babel fish. If you first heard the poem, then got the Babel fish and then press the button, you must have quite a memory.. and understand Vogon ;-)

I've never been able to listen to the poem before getting the fish...
[close]
I replayed that part and indeed is the moment of autosave a bit awkward and leaves you with a problem. If you say you have the fish, I can give you the options to try (there are three) and continue from there if you want to use the saved game.

I'm also unable to get the fish afterwards unless...
Spoiler
you hang the coat before listening to the poem.

Probably yes, it will play better in voice pack. Nobody likes non-voice acted text in quantity. Well, also quality over quantity as well. Your first feedback on the inventory is what I kept in mind while revising this over and over and over again. I was 100% sure, it wouldn't satisfy you as a person ( don't take this wrong or anything  :D), but what I had to sacrifice to make it more 'playable', wasn't really worth it and I had already put some great job on it.

The interface has been revised millions of times, and it's one thing I learned from Cat Lady and on, that the interface should be planned very carefully at the beginning of the game, and not just changed in the meantime.

Ah, sorry you had to find that one. Now it's fixed, you can either re-download and re-play, or just tell me to make you a savegame (it's not much to ask and I'll have it in no time). You went pretty well so far! I'd kill myself if this one bug that fell off ruined it for you. There are many occasions and circumstances in the babel fish room, most of those don't even pass your head, but it's probably the heaviest room I've ever coded. I feel so stupid, that I just didn't guess the one chance for that autosave.

No one else has mentioned the inventory yet Dual, so it's probably just me! ;)

What was my initial feedback on the inventory, by the way? I can't remember what I said.

P.S. Bookish Hunt-Down Event next, please! :)
