Here we are. 2 fresh new backgrounds.

Well, this is Wayne's apartment. I will make more rooms to it later(Kitchen, toilet etc.) But i wanna know what you think of it now. Is it good? Bad? Any suggestions? Bad colours?

Thanks.

LGM

Wow.. I like them. Very cartoony. Nice little quaint images.

I like your style. Very original. You've taken care of pretty much everything most people get wrong. Good work! I expect to see more from you.

You may want to look into something called room continuity. For example, notice when you (as the player character) are in the first room, the door to his bedroom is north (for the sake of the argument).

Once you go through this door....BAM...new room. But also new angle, because that door appears to be west (for the sake of the argument).

Instead, what if in the bedroom, the door is to the south (for the sake of the argument)?

I'm probably not making sense here, but this room continuity thing can improve those backgrounds' gameplay. :)

I like the style here. Very cool. I have to disagree with big brother though... there is no reason that someone can't change the 'camera angle' as they go room to room... as long as there is something that interconnects those two rooms (i.e. the wall colors are the same, which they are). The 'camera' does not always have to be facing in the same direction, infact, I think it would make the games a bit boring if it always did. How often have you seen a movie where there is only one camera and it's always in the same direction?
In any case.... I do have one crit.. the shirt on the floor of the bedroom could use a litle more depth. It looks very flat. If you can't accomplish that on the floor.. many people like to hang them off a bed or wrapped around a bedpost....

Good luck :)

HillBilly

The shirt is a part of the puzzle. And if it was less flat(pointed a bit up and such) It would look kind of stupid when he walked over it.  :P

HillBilly

Anything else before i put them in the "done" box? anything at all? any, any anything?

Albino ElNegro

Don`t your character use any pillow or something?
Sorry for my bad english.

HillBilly

Yup. But it's an object, so it isent on the background.

JimmyShelter

I like the style of these backgrounds. Very cartoony.

The couch seems a little flat, maybe tilt it a little bit to give it some more depth?

I also have a reply to big brother.

If the door in Wayne's room were to the south, Hillbilly would have to change the bed perspective in the living room.

Anyway great style and keep up the good work!
I'll be waiting for this game if your making one.

Mr_Frisby

I likey these backgrounds, they remind me alot of when I was making me first game - except in mine it was underpants on the floor - t-shirt on the lamp. Good work.
Hey! All my awesome trophies dissapeared in the year since I was here last. CONSARN_IT! with an underscore!!! I earned dem tings!! Oh well. Hope your Monkey floats.

Cerulean

There is still sort of a consistency issue. The doorway seems to be at a different place on the wall. As you see it in the bedroom, it would be right where the couch is, and revealing the head of the bed (with lamp) when seen from the living room.

One way to fix it: erase the doorway in the bedroom. Instead, show the end of an open door closer to the foreground to indicate there's a doorway just out of frame.
