Hi everyone, gonna give you my pic to critic.  ;)

It is no fan art or coping.

Andail

Good start, but I think you should go ahead and "finish" it before posting here. Trace the pencil sketch to get a proper outline, then colour it.
When you've given it some work, get back here and publish it again.

It looks good to me. I don't see anything really wrong with it, but I agree with Andail...finish it! :D

lo_res_man

Its a nice somber piece, but yes, manga always looks better inked.
Do that, and maybe add some more details, and we will have a winner.
good luck

I would like to ink it, but I`m not sure if it comes out nice. ??? I`m terrified about coloring I don`t do it very often. But ok, I think now it`s time to start, eh!   ;) I`ll ink it first and edit the first post after that.

Still not sure if I will color it, only in high demand!  ;D

If you have a decent photo editing program, then there's nothing to worry about. What you should do is keep the original sketch on the bottom layer. Don't do ANYTHING to it. Create a new layer on top of that layer, and start inking in your outline and whatnot. When it comes to coloring in, add more layers. Go insane with your layers. That's my advice. You're much better off having lots of layers and maybe even having some that you eventually didn't need anyway than not having enough and having to start completely over, or even ending up losing the original image altogether.

And don't worry about coloring it. Well...do color it, but don't be afraid. If you do anything horrifically wrong, I'm sure someone around here would be...kind...enough to point it out to you. And they'd probably even offer suggestions on how to fix it as well.

GreenBoy

I had a little play on gimp made it look more inked.

It looks really good it needs finishing though.

Man thats big.

Lad

I use gimp also, and here my inked picture comes!  ;D

Now start critic!

WHOW , my first inking.  :)

Postmodern_Boy

If you varied the thickness of the lines in your inking it would give your inked work a more natural flow and increase the visual interest level.  Use your original pencil sketch as a guide, i noticed more variation in line thickness on the original sketch.

The style reminds me of bleach a little bit so I think your doing good.  :)

I haven't done much inking or anything manga style before, but I felt like giving it a go in photoshop. Like Postmodern_Boy says, you should try not to lose all that line variation in the sketches. Lines can suggest density or surface quality or shadow or all sorts of stuff, so it can help your drawing a lot if you think about what each line you draw is saying about the form it's defining. That's certainly something I need to apply more myself.

You could try digital colouring next, it's not too hard on these kinds of drawings, because they're pretty much intended for flat colour.

Thanx, for the tips.

Scotch you have done a wonderful job! :o

Is there any tutorials of inking?

EDIT:

I did the inking again!
