Hey, I'm making this underworld game for MAGS and I was wondering what do you think of this image:

He's a pirate( no s**t, sherlock :)) and after the spooky makover in a makeover show he is forced to live as a zombie in the UNDERWORLD!

Oh, and this is no way a chance to promote my game, it's just to give you some ideas on the current case he's in(not a very good choice of words, but who cares, you get the point, right?  ;)).

Seleceus

I'm not sure how cartoony, or stylized, you are shooting for, but at first glance his arms are too short, and skinny.

The game is going to be a horror-drama game and so the characters should be more realistic.
here's what I've come up with:

Hope it's better...

DonB

Its better.. but try to not make them so wide-legged..

and another very important thing; i hope you got backup of normal file cause you screwed your picture up by saving it as a .jpg with paint or something..!

Saberteeth

Alright, thanks for the C&C, here's the 2nd version of DA PIRATE(No zombie):

More C&C if you please...

Seleceus

Much better stance, but drop the forward (his left) arm down.  He looks like he's lop-sided.

Other things you may consider:  Human eyes, are more or less, vertically centered on the head.  Move them down a pixel.  His hips are just a bit too low, and this makes his legs look real short.  Lastly, you've got a fairly large range of colors (16) that gradient out from the center of each object.  This isn't doing your pirate any justice and it's a waste of color.  Try using them to highlight/shade the details, and create better depth.

I know you're using this for a comp, so I'll quit there.  You've got more to do than spend hours on one sprite.  Good luck.

Clip

I've made longer hands,
changed the shape of the head
and paintet pants brighter.

And 2X

Thanx, guys for the criticism(I typed it right, right?), oh and Clip, nice job with da makeover, I think I'll be using your pic from now on,...

he needs to bee zombye lookin?
cause I'm paint-overing clips picture if needed

ok I'm not goma delete my work, so heres the pic i made

PS!sorry for my english.

Saberteeth

Wow, uku, the zombie is really zombie-like, the skin tone is very good, but I already dumped the idea for him to be a zombie, but the rest are still gonna be zombies so your work wasn't for nothing,... :)

Das Plans

Hey, this zombie really looks cool. Looks, like he got stuck under a lawnmover, which is a good thing ... for a zombie, that is.

And that pirate is totally cool, altogether. I would just put the waist a little higher. One or two pixels up, and everything's fine.  :)

And, oh, what about a sword or one of those pirate-guns dangling from his belt? That would be swell.

The guy is a freelancer, so:

1. Too poor to get his own weapon
2. I'll put in a new view when he
Spoiler
steals a sword from the zombies chest
[close]
.
3. Needs to carry as minnimum weight as possible(for the difficult climbs onboard)
4. Also less weight for quicker running when he's being chased.
