this is the background im currently working on for my game and it looks crap.

i dont know what else to add and to be honest im pretty damn bored, i jus dont see where my game is going and dont have to effort to draw this bg..

if youre not enjoying this and if you are not almost finished then quit. it has no sense making something unless you enjoy it/ have to/ getting paid for it anyway hillbillis edit can give you ideas of filling the room. just one more thing : add foreground it really adds that *something* to a room.

lol thanx kazz, looks real nice.

i kinda took what mage said into consideration ... and ive now finished a 320 background of a ocean in about 20 mins    the thing is tho it atachally looks good, and i have a really cool storyline idea ... and ... and.

well ive probally quit about 5 projects so far and i really should stop it, but i keep playing other ppl's games and realising how lame my art looks:P ah well , i'll put it down as practice.

DON'T stop. Belive me, your art is way better than most AGS games I've played. If you finish it, it's probably gonna go in the "Good game graphicss" slot.

oh yeah, i forgot to mention that if you don't have anything better to do don't stop (and you shouldn't stop unless it is a REAL pain to do these backgrounds)

Too many 'games with potential' get put on hold or cancelled!

I stalled for a few weeks on JP & Cosmo.  I felt it wasn't going anywhere.  Then inspiration hit one night and I couldn't stop working on it!  (pissed my girlfriend off in the process!)

Stick with it ... in the end you'll be happy!  (And so will those of us in the community looking forward to this game!)

hang in there man.  Oh, and as was already mentioned, don't hesitate to ask for help ... that's what the community is for

It's a very good BG Chicken,
I know that feeling all to well, when your initial reason for making the game in the first place is replaced by the redundancy of having to "make" it. We all strive for the moment in which me make the little icon, pack it, upload it and watch the thread fill (not that i've ever gotten that far lol). Try to ditch those conceptions of forfillment and replace them with the actuall game making process whether it be the next BG you'll work on, the sound track, characters, script etc. etc. Your work will improve as a result also (not that it doesn't already kick arse )
Don't be discouraged, and don't rush your work.
