Seems to be a blue light (from the Moon), so I suggest giving the skull, plants behind it and the earth a blueish tint, it'll fit in more with the rest of the picture and you'll get a better atmosphere.
Not too blue mind you (cause then it'll ve no different than than the sky and stuff in the foreground), keep some traces of the colours (green, gray, brown etc.) but give it a slight a tint of blue - it'll look like it's lighted by moonlight more.

Otherwise I think it looks nice. Might be some trouble with the height of the skull, don't know how big it's supposed to be and that thing on top makes it looks like it's from a Lego set.
I don't want the world, I just want your half

THX´s
From now, no more LEGO hahahaha, what do you think about de blue tint?
Thanks

Sughly

I think that blue tint is doing heaps, looks much better. Everything seems much more set in the moonlight. Also it seems to me (though I'm no expert on the matter) that the lighting is a little inconsistent? It looks very bright on the top of the skull, but then there's not much shadow in relation to that light (on the ground for instance), so if it was me I might look to either creating more shadow or lessening the amount of light on the top? Again, I'm no expert...

cianty

The second one does look better to me. I guess one can agree on the shadow aspect but I don't know if this is really necessary for a picture of this style. I really like this twisted DOTT style, btw.

Yeah I'm sorry homerus, I think cianty's right  :( I think the second pic suits your style more. Like I said, I'm no expert  :P

Khris

I'm a bit irritated by the glare on the skull. Isn't it made of rock?

Dualnames

It's not as polished as it could be, but it should point some stuff.

First I'd prefer for the skull to have those cool symbols, and secondly it could be glowing. I also did pixelate it some much. And also forgot to paint over the plane on the left and on the right, so you can see some colour gaps there. I could go and have indirect lightning on the bushes (as the ground seems to have).

It's just an idea on the table, it may as well suck ass.
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

I think there's a major issue with the original drawing and most of the paint overs. It's been bothering me from the beginning.

You've got to choose what kind of surface to "apply" to the skull.
It seems like you can't decide whether you want it to be shiny or not.

- If it's shiny, then you must also draw the cracks as if they were cracks made ina  shiny material.
- It it's not shiny, then you must stop drawing reflection effects that are inside of the skull's outline but don't reach the outline.

A picture is better than 1000 words :

EDIT: I think that's what Khris was trying to address when he made shading suggestions, only in a more arty and diplomatic way than I did. :D

Andail

Not be impolite towards Dualnames, but his paint-over is a lot worse than the original.
The skull looks like rubber in your version, plus the entire colour scheme is just...worse.
Sorry :(

Mad

started to make a paint-over and noticed that Monsieur OUXX  already pointed out a lot of things I wanted to convey:

I also tried to tighten your colour scheme, because some of the colours really clashed, imo.; especially the plants in the foreground with the bushes behind the skull. Unfortunately, my take on it turned out a bit dark and I have not got the time to tweak it anymore.

Some of the lighting on the rocks is a bit jumbled and confusing, but as I said no time anymore...

Hope it helps, nontheless!

Matti

MUCH better. That's the first skull that actually looks like it's made of stone.
