Caleb

NPC with a troubled past. Suffice it to say, he get's angry easily. Which is very bad for the one he's angry with. Any criticism is appreciated.

The stance is good and the anatomy looks strong, but his face looks a little too young. I'd suggest a longer, significantly broader, and possibly broken nose. A five o'clock shadow could also help a lot.

Give him a bushy beard and make him fat

Okay, just touched up the anatomy while enhancing the lighting and colour. By no means a perfect job, but it should set you on the right track.

Nice paintover, still

- should have a leather apron if he's a blacksmith
- should be smeared black from coal
- still seems too tall with respect to his body area
- this also makes the arms look too short, since elbows should be level with the waist

You don't have to upload a x2 version; use [img width=xxx]http://...

Using the width tag won't blur the pic, too.

Ekkieburt: Wow! I wish I was that good. That will help immensely, thank you.

seaduck: He will get an apron, but I'm not sure about the coal smears. Maybe some. For now, I just want to get the basics looking right, and then I'll move on.

So how's this?

Add some tattoos and he looks like Michael Scofield.

I think it looks good enough when you are not going to have top-notch graphics for backgrounds. Still, the outlines could be bit darker so they would actually have some more use.

From what century is he? If he is from today, he could look much like anyone... But if he is from 19-th century or something, you should lose that gray sleeveless shirt and such shiny belt. I suggest pulling his pants bit higher up, make them more brownish than blueish and add some fat galluses or strings holding his pants up.
I am just a shallow stereotype, so you should take into consideration that my opinion has no great value to you.

X-nay on the tattoos. I'm not finished with him at all, I'll do some shading and color work later, but for now, I just want to get the anatomy looking right. He is from a medieval/fantasy-ish game. I will, however, lengthen his legs.

I think that, there should be more of a bulge on his biceps. This would instantly give the character a 'Don't mess!' identity. Also, I believe that there is too much emphasis on the blacksmith's man-boobs, try to make these, as well as the biceps, more muscular.
