Hello everybody! I decided to help someone with game graphics but I stumbled upon small problem right away :) I'm making an intro scene with a car viewed from front (1960's bentley s2) and I could use some perspective suggestions. Never did intro stuff with such closeups and I'm not sure how to do the road perspective right. This should be a road running through a forest so if anyone can show me where the road should end or trees should be visible I'd be grateful :)

Would something like this work?

You could bob the car up and down a bit, weave it left and right slightly, and have the trees go by and scale down with perspective.
Oh, and flip it if the game is set in the UK. :=

Ok that can look good indeed. wont flip it though as the game takes place in USA :P

I like the car!

Based on your drawing, I'd suggest a lower vanishing point. Here's a very rough sketch:

As Steve said, you'd animate the trees and grass and so forth. If the car chassis bobs up and down with the tyres staying still the effect should work very nicely.

EDIT: If it's the USA you might need a wider road... I was drawing a single track English country road.

Now to confuse everybody and suggest that horizon line should be somewhere in between Ali and Steve made. More to Steve's side.

I'm too lazy to go and check the car's profile, but from the bonet and lights it seems that the camera is slightly higher than the center of it's height, while for example the roof looks pretty much like it's viewed from the front.
Thus I think Steve might have overdone it with the height of the horizon. The other thing, which I take is from the speed it's drawn and not anything personal - the road on both drawings is far too narrow.
I don't want the world, I just want your half

I also agree with anian with having an in between perspective from Ali's and Steve's.

How's that for a horizon and road width then? (I may curve it a bit :) just wanted to check your opinion first)

EDIT:
As you can see I'm also working on the lights as it will be night rainy scene XD *sigh* lots of fun work :P

EDIT 2:
Version B: (which is better? the previous one or this one?)

I prefer the upper, higher horizon to go with your car.
However, if you were to consider rejigging the car slightly to match Ali's trees, I think it would look much better with the low horizon.
(To defend my sketch for a moment, the roof looks like it's being viewed straight on, so that's approximately where I put the horizon.)

Lowering the backseat/rear window bottom would also help even out the horizon line height.
