Because you used Alexander's face, the amount of colour tones of his clothes and the light direction are wrong. Think about where the light is coming from and either remove some tones from his face or add some to his clothes. His right leg looks a bit gimpy too.

Galen

Give him some eyes you big meanie!

Gazzo

hmmmm I thought the Light source was from above the character, i'm going to change the overall face. thnx and hahaha I don't have any intention to add "clearly visible" eyes :P!! thnx anyways

Gazzo

Well i made a few changes, well changed the whole face :P!!!i like this one much more fore several reasons, first i made it completely haha, second it resembles more a kinda anime style, and i like that :P!!! well what do you think!?

LikeTheAngel

The eyes are kindof strange. I can't really put my finger on it... but it's weird.

Gazzo

hehehe it would be great if you could sugest any modification, cause in my opinion they look fair enough

Takyon

His eyes look way too far apart IMO
ghost.

Gazzo

I think I get the problem hahah you are concidering se lighter colour to be his eyes, hahah maybe the problem is that i'm color blind hahah and in my opinion it's clearly skin colour and the darker shade are the eyes, well thanx!!! i'll what i can do

IMO there should be a dark line of pixels bordering the hair and the forehead... See if the light's 'above' it's casting a shadow against the forehead.
I'd try to sharpen the face up in general, but that's just 'style' that not like something really 'critique'.
Really good.

Gazzo

hahahah I added a weird little screen capture of my game, i'm saying weird cause this location doesn't even exists in the game, was just goofing around well, wanted to share ir with you

haha the character seems kinda out i think cause of the colors waaaa i hate being color blind :P!

Mazoliin

You must put some shadow under his nose, 'cause right now it looks like it goes all the way to the neck.

Babar

Under the nose, and under the mouth also, perhaps. Right now he looks somewhat alien, or like those people in horror movies that have their mouth magically covered by skin.

I think the problem is that it you used Alexander's face (style), while you used your own drawing style for the jacket. The face on its own has 8 colours, while the jacket (for example) barely has 3. Even taking into account the different texture style of skin vs cloth, I think you should match them up a bit.

Gazzo

Well I've already changed the whole face, just kept the colors. and hmm in the original Alexander sprite his pants had only 2 colors :P!!!! hmmmm well about the nose, i don't know why every body haha like to view al the facial features clearly, if you look at sierra style games you may notice that the face is really "washed up" you kinda have to use your imagination to get it. Instead of for example Lucas arts styles, where everything is clearly visible, well in my opinion that gives the character a "cartoony" look for that amount of pixels therefore i've always prefered sierra style. maybe it's just a matter of taste who knows :P!!!

thanx anyways i'll se what i can do

(sorry for my english!)

Babar

And the shirt had 6 separate shades of green! My point was that, as you said, King's Quest (and other Sierra games) had it so that the sprites looked somewhat photographic (a scaled down photograph). So there were colours all over the place. I certainly didn't dislike it, I've got a lot of love for many Sierra games. Your guy, however, looks like he might look like this when scaled up:

Gazzo

HAHAHAH I get your point going to check it later with a clearer mind, I've just slept few hours, i think i may take a actual picture and scale it down to analize the position of color, that pic kinda scares me hahahaha!!! well then thnx!

Andail

Small edit:
* Longer neck (he had none before)
* Longer arms and legs
* Shadows to indicate eyes and nose
* Changed pose to something hopefully more natural
* Added some highlights and changed some shading

Gazzo

HEY! Great edit! he actually DID had a neck, but his jacket has the "lapels" don't know the real word, all the way up till the head starts, there for you can only see a bit of skin color above the shirt. I actually like the pose, cause this time he is facing the front clearly before he was kinda 3/4  haha, i'll se if I change it not really that sure about it, and for the face, I admit it's a great design but not the style i'm aming for, i'm going to post here my update! THNX!!!
