SO I was asked to do a poster for an exhibition at uni about....books n stuff.

Here is what I have so far:

I would definitely appreciate any suggestions before I e-mail it to my lecturer.

You have 24 hours. GO.

Very cool, I like the entire thing and I feel it fits the theme.

I'd work on the hardback part and spine of the book.  The shadow of the pages looks odd, and the hardback has no depth.

The font isn't very easy on the eyes. But it is a digital style font I suppose.. hmm ignore me.

* Change font to something readable
* Reduce saturation. Maybe make background darker so stuff from book would feel less of a mess
* Hand-drawn page corners? They look messy compared to cleaner lines everywhere else. I'd use vectors/nice bezier curves here.
* Light from book could be intensified. It's quite weak right now-
* Don't like flying yellow stuff. I wouldn't use it at all.
* Green stuff looks strange too. If roots would turn into leaf ends without those fat bulges, it would look better... see link below. I'd also play with color a bit, try neon yellow/green or something.

Overall, it looks quite messy right now and it's hard to figure out what's going on. Just like with spiked leaves, everything could use a bit smoother, curving, creative... athletic! lines. It's simply not very expressive yet.

Thanks for your help guys! Here's v2.0:

Slight adjustments made:

* Font changed! I liked the font but no-one else did. I concede!
* Very slight mend to the hardback part, probably not noticable, but it's not an important part I guess.
* Background made darker. Tried adjusting the saturation but did not like the results.
* Removed the yellow elements but it looked much duller. Re-added them.

Thanks very much for the advice so far! Will be e-mailing it tonight, any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
