First Characters For C&C

Hi, Here are some sprites for a game I'm creating, these are my first ever animations and actual drawing using the computer so please excuse me if ive done something that is a no no (let me know)!

The first one is a white penguin named ICE! walking right!


And Bigger!!!

This is the main character... she's extremely pixelated, but hey whats a girl to do.... so I'm not sure what ill do but here you go anyway!

Now she's dressed up in a penguin suit!

Those sprites are pretty cool and well animated, but two things:

-In the first sprites, you have mixed different pixel sizes, I assume that you've drawn them at a third of the size, then zoomed in to add little details. It looks quite odd.

-The thighs in the down cycles of the woman are wobbling too much.

I like them! all of them! And I think the game will be pretty cool!

But the resolution seems to be a problem...

Not bad for first sprites, nice to see someone animating a bit before asking for crits, not that common amongst newcomers...

I think they're cool, but Isn't the woman going to be really small? She seems to be about the size of a penguin to me...

That penguin at the top... It's hard to make him out exactly... what's that blue thing?

And why has he got an outer layer of white fur or something? It doesn't look right. Can someone explain what I'm yapping about please!

I made this quickly in irc for you last night as an example, so I may as well re-post it here with some guidelines about pixelling:

1.  Redrew image since it was blown up 2-4x normal size; that is, the image was jagged from having been made too large.

2.  Removed extraneous colors.



The key here is to bear in mind that your image has been made LARGER and then details were added to it (such as the rainbow effect on the last penguin).  What this does is distort the image and is something you want to avoid.  I would suggest redrawing these at a set resolution since I was unable to shrink them without distorting the sprite.  The animations are well done, keep at it and you can only get better.
