Game idea (web adventure)

No, I don't mean online adventure, just a cartoony humourous game where you play a guy in high-school who goes online one weekend at night and accidentally gets into a very strange website and is "pulled" into the computer. He then travels through websites about different subjects. As an example of how this is conveyed, if he's in a website about Egypt he will appear to be in Egypt, as it is presented to him according to the imformation on the site. A minimalistic site which only gives a few facts will be a very in-complete Egypt.
I have some more ideas but I'll keep them to myself for now .
I plan to make this game all by myself (except for beta-testers of course), or at least I'll try hehe.

So, what do you think? Go on, shoot me right now.
Has anything like this been done (i.e. adventure in the web)? Is it a good idea at all? I'm currently having doubts, so I really apreaciate feedback. Thanks.

Hehe, naturally. It'll be like walking through bluish lands (blue sand maybe, TLJ reference! ) and many different creatures and sounds around you, and then, boom!

Sounds pretty cool. You could have an Internet Exporer browser as a GUI.

great idea! maybe if you do go to the ags forums, you could have characters with avatars representing them! and as for that gui thing, that would be funny! you could have your inventory looking like a drop down list maybe?

I plan to start small with it so I'll begin with making a website about umm, well I need to think of a topic heh.

I'll try making it like internet explorer. I prefer normal inventory though (perhaps like a different program) because in a drop down menu it won't be very comfortable to look at objects and have icons.

Somewhere around here there was a site called "cyberquest."  It was somewhat like this, but it WASan online came, completely in HTML.  I liked it  a lot.  They actually have contests to see who can finish the newest quests first.  Try it out, maybe to get some ideas.
