This is actually the background of an animation I'm working on, but I made a game size render in case I think of a use for it later on.  C and C?

Nice, but my complain is that it's too dark (at least for this crap monitor here), maybe make the edges of the tombstones reflect more light "from the moon" can help defining their shapes.

Another thing is that yellow thingie looks more like a meteor than a moon, I think reducing the shadows on it may help.

It's way too dark! Add some reflected light on the edges of things and it'll look better. I agree with Gilbot on the moon. Try to make it more solid looking. Otherwise I think it's a good background!

Maybe use volumetric lighting instead of the fog? Also, for my taste, the separation between land and sky is too sheer. Some sad trees in the background would help IMO...

Hey great background!

I don't really think it's too dark, but the contrast moon / earth is a bit odd...

either you should make the moon less bright or the rest a little brighter. Try walking outside when the moon is full, you'll be amazed how much you really can see! A full moon gives a lot of light

No one has the right to comment Neutrons images (especialy beackgrounds) since no one of you ever got close to that quality (including me, off course)!

Sam.

um.. boris? if noone had the right to comment on them, why would he post here?

anyway, i like it, although it is not clear that the fog is... well fog. it looks like smushy ground.  trees and general foliage, or a fence would do well also
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

Can't you see I'm kidding. I just wanted to point Neutrons talent, wich we,  I guess, all respect.
I think that fog looks fine, by the way.

This is the critics lounge, not the praise lounge.

Anyway, to get on topic.
I think it is a fine background, except it is, as people have mentioned, way too dark.
I thought it was a render of a night-sky scene before looking at it in PS with the brightness level upped.

Neutron

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, I'll see if I can fix the lighting and the mist.  I kind of like the moon the way it is though, I could have made a more realistic one, but I like the glowing look.
