Ive played a few ags games made, and i cant figure out how they get their objects to stick out like a sore thumb. Especially in some of the games done in 640 by 480 res. Anyone have a suggestion?

Thx

The easiest way to get objects to not stick out, is to draw them exactly the way you draw your backgrounds. Say if you're using a limited pallette, or a certain technique to get backgrounds, use the exact same technique to draw objects/characters and what not.

But sometimes because of gameplay, it's intentional to make the objects stick out to make them more noticiable.

Especially when you're playing those 256 colour SCI games. :=

When I've been drawing objects so far, I've been drawing them as a seperate layer onto my background. Theat way, they're RIGHT THERE on the background where I want them and how I want them. Later I just copy and paste the "object" layers out, import those into AGS and bingo-bango! They're objects and they probably look okay on the backgrounds (at  least, as good as I can make them look).

Just an idea.

I've got a question, too:
How can I make it that the player character looks like he's walking across the screen? I'm really stuck.

-Well, you have to use walk frames.

Oh great, I'll try that!
