thanks GarageGothic! Now you mention it, it realy looks kinda wierd. I'll try my best making it look better :).

Looks great. It's definitely Indy!

Which is good, because if it looked like Andrew Edmark I'd be most dissapointed.

:P

On the other hand, you should change a bit the shape of his right eye (The "left" one, from our point of view). Compare it with the reference and see that your has more rounded shape. Indy looks younger. Do the test. Cover his right side of the face with a paper and look. He looks more like Shia Lebeouf. Do the same covering the left side. Harrison Ford now. Do the same guy in both sides of the face! :)
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

LGM

If it looked like me it would only be an improvement!
You. Me. Denny's.

My two cents to the crit:

The beard hair seems a bit too smooth. You seem to follow the chinline a lot, making longer hair that is following the chinline. Mybe add a few straws sticking out.
I am just a shallow stereotype, so you should take into consideration that my opinion has no great value to you.

I think you've got a little too much shading in his left eye. It makes it look as if it is further back in his head than it should be. Compare the photo and you'll see the shading here is not as dark as yours and the shaded area is not as wide.

Just wanted to let you know, that I fnished him the last few days:

Jakerpot

AWSOME!  :D i made a The Darkness fan art, well, it was almost good, but i'm a 13 years old boy  ;D It's pretty good!

excellent work. how many hours all up?

I'd love to see a tutorial. have you done any other work?

Thanks :).
Uhhhm, maybe 7-8 hours, but I realy didn't count. I had a 4 week-break since the last time I worked on this, which makes counting the hours even more difficult.
This is my first photoshop-art at all, so there's nothing else to show you. But I'll certainly do some stuff in the future, since this is work for a whole poster of the fangame I'm working on.
Maybe I'll do somekind of tutorial later, when I know more excactly what I'm doing xD. But I got the "history" of the pic on my pc, since I worked with different layers in photoshop. If enyone would like to see it, I could upload something like this.

Impressive!

I wish I had a tablet - I've been looking at the Wacom Cintiq 12WX but it's too pricey right now...  Maybe down the line I could afford it.  What tablet did you use to make this pic?

Anyway, back to the point, I think you've put some effort into this pic and it shows.

Kaio

I use the Wacom Bamboo. It's said to be a beginners-pad, but I'm 100 % happy with it. It's also one of the cheapest, I think.

alex

The bamboo ?  Hm I would have overlooked that as a budget crap option but seeing what you have done here...  I am seriously reconsidering that perspective.  Thanks :)

Layabout

Nice pic. Really really quality. Looks 'painterly'. One crit, the ridge of the hat is off centre.

Don't dismiss the Bamboo, but if you do get one, I wouldn't recommend getting the really cheap vers. Get the Bamboo fun. It's more geared towards digital painting than the lower models.
I am Jean-Pierre.

Thanks again forum :)

I had a slight issue with the hat too, but given all the hatty criticism already delivered and the fact the author said "I've finished" I kept it... well... under my hat...
