Hey, as far as music goes I'm a newbie but here's two Midi's I made.
What I really want to know, is what good programs are there for converting the 'midi' files into something a little better sounding.
A good synthesizer anyone? Anyways, here's the links.

Hi there, I couldnt get the second MIDI file to load, but I heard the first one. It's not too bad, just very repetitive and I'm not so sure the drum beat sets the mood so well, but then its really hard to tell what kind of thing you want it to accompany. It sounds like a pretty pumping oasis at night if you ask me, hehe.

There's a fairly cool free converter from MIDI to MP3 online at
http://www.hamienet.com/midi2mp3
but I think its limited to about 4 conversions a day, and you'll need those 4 to find the best instrument set for your MIDI file, so it's a bit naff.

None the less, just keep going! :)

ps. The haminet service really doesn't do MIDI's great justice

The second one didn't work for me either.
"Night oasis" is pretty good. Apart from the drums. When I loaded it into my MIDI editor and turned off the drums, I could really see it used in an oasis at night.

There's something else. The drums break up the natural rhythm. I've made a little paintover of the first 8 bars to show you what I mean.
What I did was, I the notes from the "BumBumBeBum", copied them to the drumtrack (and put them on the right instrument of course) and added some more to emphasize the rhythm.
Now I'm not a professional musician or anything, so do with it what you like.

For a first musical attempt it's not bad! (I don't even want to think back of my first song)

Thanks alot for the comments guys, (sorry about the buggy unworking midi, I know that's frowned on in forums). Special thanks to you to you Mods, the Midi2Mp3 converter was seriously handy! (P.S. There's a resource page, with all kinds of art programs, but I can't find one with a list of SE and Midi tools! UNFAIR TREATMENT FOR ASPIRING MUSICIANS! LOL.) I've got a new one in MP3 format, (thanks again Mods) check for a new thread on it soon!
P.S. Twin Moon, I couldn't get your 'paintover' to load...wah... Mail it to me, ShonenAiGuy@live.com
