I was playing around today in fl studio and came up with this.

I didn't put a lot of work into it, so It's not much. But C&C is welcome!

Sounds good, well done!

Go back to the eighties, start a hardrock band and score a #1 hit. Very catchy stuff!

Rock on, thesuitor! Awesome! I'd love to hear how it sounds as an mp3, try that converter that Mods posted about in my thread.  http://www.hamienet.com/midi2mp3 it's easy! (and really cool) thx Mods!

I'm always impressed when someone is able to make something reasonably decent with the midi format, so good job!

For the record and for all midis around here, my new "lovely" soundcard LynxONE does NOT have GM, so I can't actually play any midi...   :P In all honesty this pisses me off!

The Suitor

wow, thanks for all the positive feedback. I guess this might be game-worthy after all, as opposed to what I originally thought.  This is actually a "ripoff" of a song I wrote back when I was a diligent member of my former band, which sadly is no more  :'(. But oh well, I got AGS! Who needs a bunch of egotistical band mates when you can make adventure games! 8)

You don't need hardware midi support to play them. I'm sure most of us have integrated audio chipsets with no GM either. I thought Windows/DirectX/whatever provided it's own midi synthesis? On linux the common software synthesizer is TiMidity (that's what I use on my laptop), and I think there might have been a windows port at some point.

Get a GM soundfont (Personal Copy, Unison, Cadenza, FluidR3, to name a few) and some kind of SF2-playing software. FluidSynth and TiMidity are the major ones for Unix-like systems, and I think both have been ported to Windows. I don't know what native Windows stuff is available.

tube: Soundcard is not playing direct sound either. ;) I'm stuck at ASIO
