Hi guys,

I didn't show much of my work for mobile games lately but I thought I might share this piece. It's supposed to be lost Atlantis...

Looking good, allthough submarine and waves are kind a wierd, but that is just my opinion.

Ubel

Yeah you really should do something to those waves. They kinda spoil the overall great picture.

Love the lighting on the underwater objects, though  :)

The ruins on the ground look very good. Somehow reminds me of a level in Worms.

Looks great, except for the waves fix those and it looks even better.
And it does look like a worms level :P

Whoa, I absolutelyl LOVE the crap you drew at the bottom of the sea.

I don't like the fish at all.  They look really bad and take away from the entire picture.  The waves are a bit too close to the surface and too stylized for me.

Treasure wrecks always have a very cool foggy appearance, from the absorption of light and the dust etc all combined...I tried to produce that effect.

I did a few things.  I made the saturation reduce by a gradient at deeper depths...which happens in real life of course.  I also added a layer of fog behind and in front of the wreckage.

Like your mod, Stuh, but I think Jaz's pic.'s supposed to be a level background for a phone game (again), right? In that case there're possibly some limition on the use of colours and effects, and darkening the colours can affect playability of teh game.

stuh505

Hmm...I see your point...but if it can support the shafts of light I would think it could support the fading at the bottom.

milkanannan

yeah, loose the waves altogether - it makes the ruins look REALLY deep.  I'm lovin the rays of light.  I'm lovin it!  Hmmm...I suddenly had a craving for some fries...

Phemar

Loose the waves? I think you mean lose the waves.

Actually that background looks A LOT like a stage in Darius II, if I remember well, your ship can get above the water surface in that game. If going up above the water surface (and do some nifty graphics effect maybe) is part of the gameplay of this game the water level has to be drawn, but I agree that the tides have to go or to be redrawn, they just don't match with the rest of the style. But if you really don't need the ship to go that high up I'll agree with other, just don't show the water level and make the water looks deeper.
