I must disagree with the others. The screens are really nice. But I don't think that this game will be better as the original. First: I'm worried about the matter that you don't take the advices of the other users seriously. So I believe that there would be a lot of bugs in your game as long you don't care the advices of the others. And second: I don't like the idea about a modification of Maniac Mansion. I love the original game and I don't want to play a game, which have new rooms and places, but could destroy the atmosphere of the old game. Maniac Mansion Deluxe is an exception, because it has only better graphics and sound-effects. But it has the same brilliant storyline and atmosphere as the original.

I hope that you change your mind and stop this project. You would make fun of yourself only.

Think about Maniac Mansion Mania. That's a project that actually lives from people reusing the same graphics over and over again in order to "keep a style" and have some templates.

It the same as here, the developers of MMM also use the furniture of original MM instead of creating their own ones. Thats not very creative.

That doesn't happen everytime in this project. Some authors of Maniac Mansion Mania use their own graphics without any objects of Maniac Mansion.

Is cool. Okay, not mind-blowingly cool, but cool none-the-less. The most important thing in any game's art is consistency. If you can maintain the above quality of art throughout your game, then it'll end up looking pretty damn funky.

Regardless of quality, a game with consistent art binds together and feels like a quality game even if the screens independently are not that brilliant.

So I say, keep it up and good luck!

Is it? Whoops! Well in any case, that pic isn't massively better than the other stuff so I still stand by what I said.

@rubacant Ok, here is some critics. I took one of your pictures as an example
Red sourended areas are thing that shouldnt mould, neither metal nor glas moulds.
Purple Areas are things that should mould.The plants wouldnt resist the mould. The wooden table and the picture wouldnt either.
Red arrow shows how mould could look like, its not perfect because i dont want to take over your work. but better than those arbitrary spreaded dots.
Blue arrow shows the black line which is the corner of the room. where is that black line on the left side?
Green arrow shows the toeboard. The toeboard should also be on the side walls.
Blue surrounded area shows wooden bars. Dont just use a wood texture. Noone will notice that this is wood. But if you still want to use wooden texture the texture on the side walls would be diagonal and not as even as on the back wall.

No no, the mold is all wrong, as is the paneling. I dont think what this room needs is paneling. And the mold is too much for the whole room. Put bits of mold on the ceiling, and in the corners but not EVERYWHERE.

Funny that you've got a person called "mould cheese" advising on how to draw decent mould.

This just goes to show that people can't tell what it is, I do declare that Mould's mould would be better to use. When they tell you how..

How many people does it take to persuade you that the mould is too much? We don't need to see it in game, we can zoom into the picture using paint, at the in-game resolution and see that it is too much.



Here is a mouldy wall. It's subtle colours, where as yours are dark dots scattered everywhere covering all of the wall. At least space it out a bit so it's not all over the place.
