My Silly Sprite - Trying to find a style

Hi there
It's been a long time since I've posted on this forum, but after pushing some pixels around i thought it was a great opportunity to get back.
Here's my new spite step by step. I'm trying to develop some sort of technique so please criticize everything...

I'm not exactly sure which I like better, the last one or the one before that one.

I personally like the colored outline, which makes the black outlines of his eyes stand out all the more. Nice to see it step by step, and I generally love it all around. When do we see him in a game?

Funny. You're right. I didn't see that before now.
Actually his head is originally from a strange picture I draw some time ago...

I think that color or black outlines depends of the style of bacgrounds to use.

Anycase, in the color outlined the eyes stand out too much in my opinion... Maybe need a dark red outline.. or something.

But the char is really pretty!

His shoe gets cut off a bit on one side. I think the outline on his head and shoe could be a little less dark/closer to the head and shoe color, that is of course MY style, however, so don't do it unless you agree.

But the shoe... gotta fix it... IT'S BUGGING THE CRAP OUT OF ME!
