Lets look at this great game MORE LIKE A Z-

Frige is in the wall

Some stuff has Borders and some dont

Shadows Look like Crap and look messy and strangely lightened

Wheres a couch or any thing Where are the Lights

The rug is in a bad place and Off Perspective

Walls Look like junk

Whats with the wall color

Cabs Look like Carbord Boxs

NO texture at all

And Just what do you think your going

Kick ass bad ass game real bad

Don't be so hard on yourself. Your latest screen is a great improvement on the earlier images in the thread! I'm glad to see that you've decided to draw it from scratch instead of cutting-and-pasting from existing backgrounds. It gives the image more character and coherence.

The composition is more dynamic (slightly). However, I think the cartoony angles should be applied more consistently: currently the stairs look a bit "uptight" compared to the door etc. The zigzag shading is an interesting technique, and I think you should continue to develop it further. Maybe you could try not following the edges so much?

Overall, good job!

One does not have to be a grant artist in order to be able to critic.

You really need to calm down and see what you're writing. Take some advice, and keep in mind that this whole MM thing can get a bit tiring over some of us (at least for me).

Just do the damn game, with or without the critics, since you are burning to do it, and get it over with! Critic is a both way avenune. One gives critic (good or bad) and one takes. Critic does not mean correcting your images and ALL your BGs. Critic is about teaching and learning. You should know a thing or two until now with the so many BGs you have shown us, and yet you keep posting the same errors, and the same things and fail to understand what people are telling you. (or you just dissagree really strongly.). People (including me now) have wasted time in posting for you, and you are insulting them? This is, the least I can say, unrespectful!

The backgrounds from MM Mania usually don't lack one thing your backgrounds are: CONSISTENCY.
Don't paste photos in them. Don't use the airbrush or blur tools. And don't post JPGs.

The MM Mania backgrounds managed to replicate the style of MM Deluxe. You didn't. It's as simple as that.
