I'm fairly new to pixelling, so please bear that in mind. =D

So these are two old people sprites I've drawn...

I'm basically looking for somebody to suggest ways of making them walk. I've had a few attempts, but they don't look quite right.
The woman is quite a nice, gentle character, and the man is supposed to be more grouchy... if that helps in the slightest. XD

If anyone has any critique, feel free to say.

Im sure someone will help you with your walk cycles but Im not the best person to do it.
I just wanted to say that I think you have a couple of unique and lovely sprites there, keep up the good work matey! :)

The woman could walk very gently, moving her feet slightly and keeper her arms in place.  I would think that the old man would have heavy strides and adding a lot of emphasis to the arms.

These look CUTE! A bit like Matruschka dolls, don't they?

The woman could walk with tiny, quick steps, that would be a small, easy 4-frame animation. Like being in a hurry, it would match the way she clenches her bag. The bag would then sway a little, and as a secondary animation you could make the feathers on her head tilt from left to right.
The old man looks a bit disgruntled... what about having him trust his hands into the trouser pockets, hunching a bit, and walking with slow pace?

Thanks for the comments. =D
They were just based on something I doodled a couple of days ago. I never noticed it, but now that you mentioned it they do look a bit like Matruschka dolls.

I've done a little simple 4-frame walk animation for her.

She looks a little stiff like that. How would her body move at all?
And I know the legs should be more animated than just up and down. This was the problem I had the first time round, or are they okay like that?

They're facing a difficult direction to work on. I'm not sure if she would move left or down like that. XD

I'm still working on him. He's a little harder as I have to actually animate his legs as they aren't covered by a skirt.

The legs are actually quite okay. Just mover her shoulders and arms a bit. All you need to do is moving a pixel's width...

I really like cute designs of your characters, and I think the walkcycle's coming along very nicely ^_^.  I thought the eyes of the woman looked a little grouchy (assuming that she's supposed to be the polar opposite of the man), so I tried a little bit of a change-up:

It's perhaps a little too over-the-top, but she looks more cheerful now ^_^
Keep up the good work!

@mash: The two of you should team up  :) , that would be a great team.
As the doll-like style already exaggerates the old couple, I think mash's edit is a good step, and it really makes the two look both a couple AND very different characters. Happy-go-lucky Vs jaded sceptic works very well in games, proved, for example, by Two Of A Kind.
