How do I make some colors of the sprite blend with the background or anything that is behind it?

You'd use alpha transparency and 32-bit mode.

More information in the manual, and if you use it for big objects/characters, it may cause framerate drops...

This was asked five minutes ago! Please, please search.

sorry I didn't research
what is this alpha transparency?
how do i paint with that?

Elliott Hird

No, please don't tell me... you're using paint. Get the gimp (http://gimp.org/), paint can't handle most stuff. Although it is quite good.

Exse didn't say he uses Paint, Elliott.

Exsecratus, you have to make your picture have transparent background and you have to use .png format since it supports alpha channel. And you must use 32-bit color palette, as dkh pointed out.

Then, when you import the picture in AGS, it asks you if you want to use alpha channel with this picture.

Elliott Hird

Well since he was slightly cluless I just assumed he wasn't exactly using photoshop.

Might be called alpha channel, or transparancy, or opacity.
