As part of my "learning how to pixel"-process, i foun myself making a slew of characters from one the (pen and paper) roleplaying games I use to play, as if they were characters from an old nintendo-style RPG. I think they turned out quite alright.
Some of you may remember the two leftmost characters...I've pixelled them before when I was considering making a Monkey Island style adventure in the setting of the game. Those were of Monkey Island resolution though, which these clearly aren't...
But damn fun to make, especially their faces.

one of the hardest things to do in sprite creation, I feel is creating the eye. The eyebrows in all of the characters seem too distracting, they jut out just a little too much....that's about I really have in terms of criticism though..just try and cut back in the very prolific eyebrows

First of all, great sprites, you captured a great amount of detail in such small images.

I found Guybrush's black eyebrows and eyes a bit confusing, being the same color,  I made a small paintover to show you what I mean, hope you don't mind:

Basically, I just colored the eyebrows with the darkest shade of his hair color.

Also, you don't have to resize the sprites if you want them to appear zoomed on the forums, just use this code
Code: ags

for example:
Code: ags

The amount of detail you put into these is amazing.  I think the eyes are fine. How do you go about making these? Do you sketch out the character first or just jump right into the pixeling?

i also agree these are amazing....

i think the eyebrows give more personality frankly, you will be able to convey more emotion from the sprites this way,

i think you have done a top notch job here, considering the resolution you have put a fair amount of detial in all the images and im sure that the characters would be very memorable

Thanks, guys.
Personally I prefer them to have such strong eyebrows. Makes it so much easier to see the expression. Also, the white you put around the eye make him look horribly crosseyed...
And just for the record, it's not Guybrush though I do see the similarities.
