Some images of 3d-models I've been producing for sale on the internet. Hope you like em. Haven't been creating any games lately btw... just wanted to show you some of my latest works in 3D.

Modelled in Wings3D, textured in Photoshop CS2, rendered in Poser6.
Take care!

Nice job, Minimi. Looking quite excellent!

Makes me want to gamble ;D
Very nice! Little question why are the cards upside down? Once again well done!
I won't use this login.
Try IndieBoy instead

Nice! I especially like the b&w playing cards. I think the chairs in the 1st render need some work, though, they're too “blocky” IMO.

Erm, I don't get it, how can playing cards be upside down?

ThreeOhFour

I think he means the ace.

Make sure you edit the number of clubs on the cards to match the value of the card.

Minimi

Thanks for replying. The cards are postwork, I kinda rushed it, so accidently put it upside down. I see that I also forgot the 10-card should be replaced with the 2-card, lol. But anyway these products are finished and these are just promotional pictures, so not really a big deal, they give an idea of what's in the pack Here's a closeup of the cards, where the ace isn't upside down. As for the number of clubs matching the cards identity, it doesn't have to be, depends on the cards-style. Not every cardsuit has that on them. Here they are identical.

What can I say???... Wonderful!!!!!!!!!

Maybe get slightly sharper texture on some of the models? Craps table, for example, have a lot of blurry/unsharp texture.

Nice work! You got the shapes right but I think you could improve the textures alot. Some of them look really flat. Others have a pretty nice amount of detail to them though.

Minimi

texturing has never been my strongest point. I'm learning... but it probably looks mostly flat as I don't use bumpmaps yet... ;) I should start working with them! :p

These models look nicely detailed. On a small point: the card backs aren't as intricately detailed as most normal backs. They're also 'one way' because of the four pips which is uncommon because it can be used by tricksters to recognise cards.

I guess that won't be a problem with your virtual cards, but it stands out as odd to me.

Wow, what wonders could lathe modifier do. A whole chess sets! Now why didn't I think of it...

Few points though:

The detail and realism level varies a bit too much.
While most of the things look superb,

* Slots machines geometry feels weak and robust
* Pool table and billiard table #2 have really... er... sucky table legs. Can't explain how, maybe it's even so in real life, but they look downright ugly.
* Pooltable needs definetly higher-res and higher-detailed material. Preferably better shading too to make it really look like thick-cloth-covered.
* You have way too much sharp edges. To name some: Glasses, Chess clock button, Slot machines, tables.
Extrude every side a bit and then bevel a microscopic bit. Almost all things in world are worn a little - do same, and it makes shading look much better also. Glasses hit eye especially much, it looks like you could cut your lips with these glasses.

I totally love craps table. I think it's the prettiest piece of those all. Just try to fix texture wrapping on light wood a bit, and it's perfect... maybe tile few times more?

BTW... Are you selling these models? If yes, does it pay well?

Minimi

Thank you for your great reponse Increator! Now that's some advice I can use in future projects. Unfortanatley these are all completed products and won't be able to update em right now. I will take your advices in consideration of future projects en for the legs... they are from real tables, you should talk to them, lol!

The products are for sale indeed right here: http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=61304

My profits are variable on each product. To give an indication, The Casino: Poker sold now 76 times, of wich 52 people paid $12, 10 people paid $10, and 14 people paid $6... this is due to promotional sales... :) So it's a nice little amount, just enough for me to keep going, and buy some stuff like guitars, camera's, and some other neat stuff :)

Nice, solid work all round. Textures can be a pain in the ass, and although yours are a little low-res in places, though hardly enough to be a big deal, they seem fine overall. I especially like the Craps table model.

I often wondered if I should try being a renderosity vendor.

Resolutions of textures are though at 2048x2048, some at 1024x1024. Only previously I made some mistakes by putting all textures of one object on one texturemap. At the Slotmachines I did it differently by having a sepperate texturemap for each spot, so that product has higher resolution and detail.

I made a few mistakes on the crapstable map by the circles in photoshop, so they look alittle blocky, that though has nothing to do with the resolution, lol. When the product sells alittle more I will be able to update the product with some higher resolutions on maps ;) I will do my best on future projects... right now I'm working on:

Stylish Wine Cabinets
Roulette
Baccarat tables
Foozeball table

not all at once ofcourse, but their coming :D

Buckethead

2048x2048 that huge!  :o Really with most the the objects you can get away with 512x512 or even 256x256. If you are going to use that big map you should really use them optimal. Sorry I might be over reacting a bit. I guess I'm just so used to the clean yet worn of look of Half Live 2  :P

InCreator

Stretched over large geometry, this isn't that huge at all.
But simple textures, with no specular or bumpmaps this size sounds a bit like a waste.
