As everybody and their little sister seem to run a webcomic nowadays, I thought "Hey! Why not you?" and made something up. I posted it in the Critics Lounge because... well, I'm looking for C&C! (some of the graphics are based off Tron 2.0)

Featuring experimental Sierra-Style speech. Let's hope it isn't too difficult to read...

System Security
How it would be like if the programs freed themselves from the slavery, threw out the tyrannic users and formed a society!

Starring:

Several "serious" programs

FireWall.exe

Bytes of different colors

The mysterious and cruel KIA (Kernel Intelligence Agency) Agents

...and some more I haven't drawn yet...

Way, way more hippy freeware programs

A bot net controller

...and some more I haven't drawn yet...

And here are the actual comics!

First one:
Bad and tastless comic

ManicMatt

Do you have to know a lot about firewalls and stuff to get this?

I don't get it.  :(

Akatosh

Well, a bit of knowledge is always nice, but I thought you could understand this without... hm. So let's make one understandable for each and everyone!

Another bad and tasteless comic

Seems like I'm screwed up pretty much with the photobucket auto-resize... oh well. Hope you still can read the text.

/EDIT: Cuttin' the clutter down a bit.

ManicMatt

So.. the joke is that the robot is taking the byte thing to die?

What was the joke in the first cartoon? That he's too busy talking to notice a bot controller?

If I'm gettting these jokes right, I'm afraid I don't find them funny at all.

Maybe it's just me, lets see if others like them.

One important element I feel your cartoon is missing, is expressions. The characters don't move at all, and have no faces of expression. A big part of a cartoon's humour is not just in the joke, but in the delivery of it. And seeing Jon's face in the last panel of a Garfield cartoon makes it all the better for it.

I'm afraid I don't find them funny at all either... As Matt said, there are no expressions, no funny movements or anything that usually makes a comic funny. Try to make them more "non-geometric". Don't have one image of every char that you copy-paste, but take your time with it, and draw them frame by frame! :)

Akatosh

I'm merely practicing at the moment... but I'll take your advice and see what I can do. Now I just need some funny jokes...  ;)

/EDIT: Working on it. Let's do some less technical ones.

TheCheese33

I get the jokes (sadly), but they aren't very good. And the third drawing you did looks just like the first, only black. I think this could have the potential, though.

need...More...WOUND!

Akatosh

Okay, I finished a less technical comic, in a quite different style. Hope you like it, it took me more than ten times as much time as the first two ones. It's split into three images of four frames, due to photobucket issues.

Hahahhahah. Good stuff. After I finish my screenplay I was thinking about writing a story about an employee of an antivirus company, the company is actually producing viruses that other companies cant remove.

Liked your comik funnnny stuff.
