I like your style :)

The only thing that hits my eye is that the desk is off perspective. Unless it's intended to be that way, you  might want to use the same vanishing point as the walls use.

Way too empty, and in my opinion also too big. It doesn't even have chairs. And if it's supposed to be a detective's office, it really shouldn't be that big. So make the room smaller (or all the items bigger, or maybe actually both, at least with for example the bookshelf) and put more in.

Nice work. I'm liking it lot. It reminds me of Maniac Mansion a little. I really like the shading on the objects, but agree that the desk looks a little funny. The biggest probem I see is that the light doesn't look real. It has no perspective bouncing off the wall. Also it probably shouldn't go into the ceiling, like it is now.

Ishmael

Oh, indeed, your police-type-person has the same problem as my current main project's police-type-person main character... chair missing :P (Actually, my character only has a desk and a bookshelf in his office...)

Hey nice BG - 5 Days a Stranger inspired at all?

The main thing I would do here is to just clutter up the room - it's a bit empty right now.

jolley_small

thankyou for feedback. Ive attempted to do what you people said and this is what ive come up with.

ALso yes i was inspired by 5days a stranger, because i liked the style.

Oh yea, I've had a similar idea, but Not Yet... aced me. Now it looks much, much better. Very nice style.

One small tip: FIRST decrease image colour limit, THEN save it as *.gif (look at the difference between -- for example -- the desk or a briefcase colours at 1st and 2nd image... got it?).

Know it's only a detail, but aesthetics is aesthetics. ;)

The shadow of the desk's left side isn't quite in perspective with the lamps position... It's líke there would be an equal amount of light coming from the bookshelf. And the chair's backrest's shadow is oddly short... nothing else catches my eye with it.

Maybe you would want a chair for someone to sit in. And a locker or something to put things in?

jolley_small

there we go made changes and added what you suggested.

Eigen

Maybe you should get rid of the black outlines totally.

Overally, awsome picture dude!  :=

Ishmael

Looks good now, nothing catches my eye anymore :)

i think the pov is too high...considering the character you showed. Yo should lower the camera a bit.

but apart from that, looks nice

Kickass picture! :D But I think you should get rid of the black outlines altogether. Also the door looks like it's painted onto the wall, but apart from that great job.

UP

On the chair closer to the door, the backrest shouldn't have that light. It doesn't look straight like that.

At a glance, I thought it might be good to say that given those long shadows, you may want to make a long shadow for your character(s) in this room, too.
