Hi everyone! I have a slight problem, and that problem is this: I have a lan on this weekend and I know everyone is gonna want to play CoD/CoD II. The problem is I can't run it on my laptop.
Everytime I run it it tells me to update my video drivers, I've tried doing this by downloading a driver off the net and it didnt work. I have the second latest version of directX (9.0b), and can run everything else fine, (doom III [with lag], quake, warcraft III etc.)

The laptop I am running is an Asus running XP, pentium 4, 256 meg ram, the video adapter is an SiS m650_651_650_740 with 32 meg ram.

Does anyone know where I can get the appropriate drivers before Saturday?

Thanks a lot,

Zor

I found the following file for you over at driverguide.com (they make you jump through many hoops before you can actually download the file you want, so for ease of getting it, I've tempoarily uploaded it to one of my sites so you can get it, unless you want to get it directly from driverguide.com yourself):

sis650.zip 2.53 MB

The following information that I copied from driverguide.com relates to this driver pak:

"sis650.zipÃ,  (Driver)
Supports the following models:
SiS 650
SiS 740
SiS 650_740
SiS M650
SiS 651
SiS 650GX
SiS 650_651_740

Driver Version: 6.14.10.2170

Ã,  Ã, Alternatively, you can try and hunt for a more recent compatible driver pak over at the sis.com site,Ã,  which is the company that made your graphic chipset:Ã,  (though I tried to look and couldn't find anything there specifically for the SiS 650_651_740 chipset, however it might be lumped in with one of the other chipset driver paks)

It's wise to make a System Restore checkpoint before installing, in case something messes up and you need to go back to your previous settings & drivers.

Good luck, hope something of this helps you.

i very much doubt your laptop will run CoD II as it doesn't even meet the bare minimum of requirements which are a 1.4GHz cpu, 512mb ram, Radeon 9200/GeForce4 and most likely needs DX9.0c, but then it shouldn't even be able to run doom 3...

Hi, I tried a version from the SiS site and it works now, (but not the expansion for some reason!)
