Accessing files on someone else's passworded HDD

A friend of mine has been having problems with his hard drive recently, seems to be virus related. After the problems started he used to be able to access files via a boot in dos mode but he can't even do this now.

So we're trying to access his files by slaving his hard drive from my main hdd. The problem is, his user account is passworded. When we try and access his files windows states that the files are password protected but there is no prompt to enter a password.

Wondering if anyone here has had a similar problem, or knows of how to fix ours?

I have this program to hack windows passwords, but I don't know if that's what you want?

I had this problem in the past ...

The problem is that Windows associates that folder(s) with another user account.  You must change the permission on the folder.

Here, this should give you what you need:

File and Folder Permissions @ Microsoft.com

Well.. you can always use a Linux boot CD (If he just wanted to save files)

EDIT:

I understand that sub7's a trojan, and you'd be infecting your own computer...but You can use it to just basically download all the files on it to another hdd
