We're having a mini heatwave here in the UK and I've just realised that all I've done since the sun decided to grace us with his presence is moan continuously that it's too darn hot and would rather stay inside at the computer.

Am I getting old?

I think generally people feel 'old' when they feel a generational disconnection with those younger than them. "What are these youths doing listening to Justin Bieber instead of The Beatles," etc.

Do...do people feel nostalgia for the sun?

Bogdan

I am 16, and I listen to The Beatles, and I spend most of the time inside and at the computer. So... No, you are not old you are just different person. And it of course depends on your age... maybe you are too old? If you are 60 or 70 years old... or it just depends on what does being old mean to you? And what is exactly too old? It's all our imagination. It doesn't matter if you are old or young. It matters what you do before you get too old. We all die in the end.

I got a bit off topic somewhere in this post.

I live in Arizona (USA) and it's probably going to be 105 degrees here....you're not old, the heat just SUCKS.

I'm 31...Usually I qould be out in the garden, perhaps having a few beers. But now? No. I'd rather sit inside watching TV...

I am ALSO 31 (off topic I know)! However I've never been much of an outdoorsy type. I'd probably still be inside anyway lol

Well that makes me feel better actually! lol. It's cooling down now so everyone's back in door so it's not too bad. I will admit that I'm addicted to the computer though :/

GOOD! I wanna play Calm Waters LOL

DazJ

Lol, it's being worked on about 10 hours a day. I'm a self-employed graphic designer by trade and keep putting the bloody game before any of my work...it's not good lol.

haha I can see how that could be a problem. I've offered my services to you and I keep that open. If you need assistance with other areas, let me know (testing? story? anything not too specialized other than voice).

I don't think it's bad. you've already read why  (nod)

I've never been one for hot days, I don't think it's an age thing. I love the beach and I love BBQs etc, but I'd rather do those things on a relatively cool day.

Yesterday I didn't even know it  was a hot day because i didn't leave my room or open my curtains.

Today I know all about it because I opened my curtain last night so the light would get me out of bed early... My face burnt off instead.  I'm not really looking forward to going out there, but I'm seeing the avengers at 11 so kind of have to.

My job actually is to"stay inside at the computer"  :-D
Well, at the office without air conditioned or anything. So most of the time, the temperature inside is way higher and than outside and makes working a pain -  and I hate this fact for 10 years.. nothing to do with age ;)

I'm here to get some candy and maybe some change, for being a good boy. Hand them over, ya bunch of geezers!

You're not getting old, frankly you just sound very British =P

Jokes aside, it is very hot today (and yesterday) and I was born in a country that's seasons only include "hot" and "wet".

(NB: I've been studying in the UK for the past 2 years now, just pointing it out so my comment doesn't sound weird)

I'm 56 and feel like an 18 year old... wish I had one    ;)
It's not over until the fat lady sings..

It is very hot, but it's pretty great. I got to take an hour out of work to enjoy the sunshine and watch the olympic torch relay, plus i just got back from skateboarding  :-D

It should also be known that i am terrible at skateboarding.

Loving these replies! lol...I think that's the answer though - I'm British. Simple as that.

If it was up to me, I'd rather stay home, sleep till 2 pm and stay up late doing stuff on my PC... But now that I'm a dad, I see this heatwave as a great opportunity to take my son for long walks and spend lots of time outside... which is really nice, actually.

I'm 30 and I feel old more and more often... but I guess that's the lack of sleep combined with having all those new responsibilities... I know what it is- my mind is still young, and I hope it'll always stay this way, but my body feels weak and tired. I look at my son running around like a madman and wonder where he gets all this energy from?;)

Andail

I'm 31 (as all the cool people around here), and the most noticable difference is that I need to sleep less in the mornings these days - which is kind of nice - and that I get drastically more hung-over after just a couple of pints - which is horrible (especially when I can't sleep it off in the mornings).
