Wow, that was a really great read esper, thanks for linking. I'm very much into brain research and surrounding subjects (going to a lecture on the subject on sunday, yay!) and this sure is an intriguing approach to the whole thing.

Oh yeah, the thread:
I have deja-vu a lot, it's something that's always intrigued me. Deja-vu of having a deja-vu also happened a few times. Sometimes, during a deja-vu, I don't just feel like something has happened before, I feel like I know what's going to happen, but only just a couple of seconds before the event. This includes small details like what someone is going to say and their way of forming the sentence, but again, a brief moment before it happens.

I like the idea of what I call the "Groundhog theory" - the possiblity that this life is our only life, that it will repeat & that we have an eternity to live it, however we please. So Uku, I share a similar thought and yes - I beleive it could be the way life pans out.

One major contradiction or headf**k for me is that, why do I know that I am present now, and that if de ja vu is "memories", why did I not remember feeling present and in existence at that time, too??

Anyway, this is a big big big big big discussion as far as I feel about it but I can't just type out my thoughts, because its taking a long long time to figure out :P

De ja vu is weird, sometimes creepy but most of the time exhillarating. Why DO we remember those moments? Who knows.

I think there's also a link to "coincidence", too.

Deja-vus are awesome. Usually when I realize the feeling of deja-vu, I just sit back and watch things happening while knowing all the time what is going to happen.

pettery while reading your post i rememberd that if i have deja-vu then:
picture, i see is like then if i look about 3 minutes in 1 place withut blinking(can you look into 1 place at least 5 minutes without blinking?-i can)-so colors are inverted(particly-my eng. su.. is bad(grammar at least))by sub-consience.like time is almost freezen -im moving a bit and eveerryyy  tthhiinnkkk iiiisss ssslooOoowww-AWESOME...
im cuite sad, that my theory isnt working.(cause if it would, after many times you woud have  dejavu-constantly(cause have 1 dejavu, then 1 and 2 and after 123 and so on.
PS!sorry for my english.

I've stared at walls, books, etc for several minutes without blinking or shifting my eyes, and know what your talking about.  Colors start to move, lines start to overlap themselves, and every still thing seems to become animated and inverted.  I like the feeling.  It's so... abstract.

You mean... your eyes became unfocused?

Akumayo

Yeah, but it's more than that, colors get inverted as your eyes move ever so slightly, but if you train them on one spot, they begin to quiver, causing radiences of strange color and abstract design...  It works best if you're very sleepy...
