Cluey

They're the thing that put the DS on hold and have made me feel sick for the past 2 months of horrible waiting.

Today, almost every post year 11 in the country got their results back.

Here are mine: (Man, that was dramatic)

English                            A
English Lit                       A
ICT                                  B
History                            B
DT Graphics                     B
RE (P&E)                          B
Science Dbl Award           C C
Maths                              C
Art                                   D (I was a little lazy in this one, plus the class was full of retarded chavs)

Anyone else want to share their GCSE or A level results?
Anyone want to discuss GCSEs/ A levels.

That was awesome Cluey, except the Art part maybe.

I only took IGCSE English, I got A* and 2 (1 is highest) at the oral test. That was unexpected, because in all my previous practise tests I got B (except once when I got A). Also, considering the fact I had no clue what I was talking about in the Oral test 2 is quite good.

I was doing that only for practise though, this year I'm going to take SAT and TOEFL lessons. I'm going to America. Wheee...

I'm not familiar with GCSE gradings, but what I saw is that you're having a "much better than average" result already, good work. :D

That reminds me that my A Level was taken 12 years from now already. :P
Anyway, as far as I remember my A Level (well it's Hong Kong A Level...) results was like Ã, (I have bad memory, all of them within +-1 grades of accuracy ;) ):
English Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, C
Applied Maths Ã,  C
Pure Maths Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, A
Physics Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, C
Chemistry Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, E

Captain Mostly

I recently got a 2:1 BSc Hons... But it wasn't as stressful as I remember school being.

GCSE's have that sence of being "THE MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER" when you do them... then immidiatly after them, A-levels become THE MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER... And then when you've done THEM and you do a degree, you (or at least *I*) refused to be fooled into thinking it was THE MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER, and started enjoying it instead...

Actually, it's interesting remembering my attitudes towards my GCSE's (shaking and panicing just before going in) and my Degree finals. Although I'd worked much harder, and was probably less certain of myself going into my finals, I remember feeling much more troubled by my GCSE's... barmy!

Still, well done on your results! My advice is DON'T let your maths and English skills go stagnant! You'll find you'll need both of them for EVER AND EVER!!! If you can keep them sharp from your age now, you'll be dead set to do well in everything in your future (I've let my maths go to rot, and it causes me no end of frustration!!)

Nacho

What do A, B, C... mean? We just uso from "0" to "10".
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Privateer Puddin'

A is best, E or F is the lowest grade? before failing (E for A level)

Three C's for English Language, Art and Drama.
Everything else is D's and E's.

Let's have a FAILURE PARTY!

To be honest, I'm not in the least bit surprised. But i feel sorry for all those people who suppoerted me along the way with the "You'll do fine's" and the "You're a bright lad, you just need to apply yourself" and the "At least the A in English Language is in the bag."

Becky

I got my AS results last week.  A's in Business Studies, Politics and History, and a B in Information Technology.

Huw Dawson

A "C" in Foundation German.  :D  :D  :D

You may not think it's great, but I was a year 9 (13-14 year old) at the time. :D Onto the other 9 and a half!

Well mine are totally different, due to me being australian. But when I finished year 12 I got:

Art - D (due to my reluctance to conform with the teachers direction, art is supposed to come from within, not from what your teacher tells you to do!)
English B+ (would have been an A+ if I had not got a D for and Oral speech on poetry ( i hated Oral speeches and poetry))
Mathematics - D+ had I got 1 mark more on my final exam would have been a C-... bastards!!!)
Film & TV - B
Ancient History - C
Religion - D

I got a B for the great General Knowledge thing we do. The QCS test. To test on Core Skills...

But my OP or Overall Percentage was 18. 1 being good, and 25 being craptastic.

A B for the QCS was fantastic though. Proves I am smarter than the teachers though... HAH!
I am Jean-Pierre.

Nikolas

Some 10 years ago I think I had:

Maths: 15.25/20
Physics: 17.5/20
Chemistry: 17/20 (!)
Language (Greek): 9.25/20

All of this is bullshit, because after 5 months in the university studying Physics, I dropped out and went to piano bar to work, and study music...

I can even begin to think about all of the people who actually paid money for me to get these grades in science and actually never learn to talk...

Paper Carnival

Well, I didn't mention my actual school grades. I didn't go well at all this year, comparing to the other ones:

Math: 19/20
Physics: 17/20
IT: 18/20
Greek: 13/20

It's funny that you mentioned that nikolas, because I a couple of years ago I was sure I'm going to be some kind of computer geek as a profession, but now that I'm into music just as much I don't know what to choose.

Scavenger

Meh =P I got my GCSE results also today ^^. On the most part, I'm pleased.
Dbl Science: A A
Dbl English: A A
R.E: A
Maths: B
Drama: C (I got docked for being late with my coursework)
Dbl Art: D D (Rar =( I do baaad. I would have faired better with the other art course =P)

And the less said about ICT the better =P

FIVE As! I can go onto A-Levels now with a firm hold. Shame it was in the subjects I didn't actually try hard in. o.o

magintz

Well congrats to all, I got my results for my first year at uni a few weeks ago, I passed it all which is good.

As for my GCSE results I remember a lot of b's. I alos remember a D in art, hence my minimal artistic abilities.

A level's where A,B,D

Farl - How it works out for us Brit's:

GCSE - A*-A-B-C (pass) D-E-F (fail) A = highest and F lowest, with U being ungraded (either no show on exam or less than like 20%) A* being an awarded merit in the subject (higher than 90% or so I think).

A-Levels - A-B-C-D (pass) E-F (fail) U as ungraded again.

Imagine an A as 6/6 and an F as 1/6 and a U as 0/6
When I was a little kid we had a sand box. It was a quicksand box. I was an only child... eventually.
