In this case it is due (In my opinion) most people start making games and loose themselves part way through and never finish them, This is where the guy needs credit i suppose as the way he designs his story     as predictable as they may seem is effective and easily constructed

I've just read the wiki and it's one of the funniest things I have ever read. Like an online soap opera. Brilliant!

His games are pretty good, but I never really got into them. They were all the same essentially too. After 5 days, the rest of the series didn't advance much in technology or scope.

Erm most of his games are set in different time areas   
the past                                    5 days
the present                              trilbys notes
the not so distant future          6 days
the future                                 1213 7 days

Also different psycological areas

Monkey island nostalgia :      Trials of odyseus kent
Horror / thriller               :      Trilby ///// Defoe Series
ETC

Seriously though, I admire Yahtzee's ability to produce work at a constant rate.

I have to say I couldn't be considered a fan, being as I've only played one of his games through to the end, but I understand his contribution to the early AGS scene.

As to him being a prick or not, it matters little to me. Plenty of people on these forums could be considered pricks at one point or another, myself included. I'm not in the habit of judging somebody's work based on my personal feelings about them, nor do I subscribe to the whole "We have been abandoned! I downloaded his games, the bastard!" nonsense.

Yahtzee does what he does, and that's fine. He doesn't need to keep an open dialog between himself and the public if he doesn't wish to do so. He doesn't need to be on these forums as he has his own, were his acolytes can gather and praise/abuse him.

And that's fine, too.

Oh, and I wish him a long and happy life.

Seriously, I just can't understand these "Please come back, Yahtzee!" topics. As I know, Adventure Game Studio is a tool that helps us make adventure (and other kind of) games, and the Adventure Game Studio Community is a place where the AGS users and other adventure players MAY meet if they wish. There is not such a rule that every AGS user must be a member of the AGS community, is there? If someone doesn't wish to be inside the community (or wants to have his own community), just don't disturb him.

As to Yahtzee...I've played most of his early work, and a bit of his newer stuff. What he has is a knack for polishing his games. His ideas, while not original, are usually well made (some of his dialog could use some reworking, though). I really just wonder where he gets the time to do most of what he does. I just see a pale skinny guy chained to his computer whenever I think of Yahtzee.

Dave is another entity, and shouldn't really be compared with Yahtzee. Also, I like Dave, and therefore am more inclined to like his games.
