CJ has said he plans on closing the forums within a month? :-(

I have talked to Chris through private messages, and has stated that the way the forums are going, he plans on closing the forums for good.

It really sucks, but hopefully he will be around to announce to everyone, but I cannot imagine a life without these forums!!!

He also told me, that the mods here were to be kept quiet until we finally got the eviction notice.

I am so bummed out right now, I have tears in my eyes.

I had a sense this was coming for a while now. CJ has been awfully cagey about commenting on ideas the AGS panel has been coming up with lately, saying things like "Umm...yeah, well." and "Don't start anything major.", or plain just not getting back to us. Then he just confessed he was shutting things down.

I knew something was up. Maybe it's personal.

Hopefully we'll hear some official info soon.

EDIT: I wish this was a joke.

Last week I sent CJ a PM with loads ideas for the new site, and his reply was... frosty to say the least... It would be bad etiquette of me to repeat the private message here, but it basically boiled down to 'There isn't going to be a new site...'

I decided not to press the issue.

In fact, two days ago, CJ had sent a PM to each of the moderators. I know I'm supposed to keep quiet but I just couldn't get it past myself's goodwill to not telling the truth to the public.

ATTN: DISCONTINUATION OF AGS
Please be informed that the company I am working for has just strengthened the terms in my contract. Right now, any code I write will become the property of the company. In other words, I am in a situation that I can no longer develop my own software. Life is hard and I cannot lose my job so I have no choice but to stop distributing AGS as free software.

For years, AGS had been my generous contribution to the public, but people would never appreciate my hard work into it and keep asking for unrealistic features, so I am indeed tired about it. Of all the solution I have thought of, I have decided to inject a small routine in the current V3.2 Final version (the one marked as 'beta' version in the splash screen) of AGS, so that systems with this version of the editor installed or with games created with it would receive an automatic unrecoverable boot-sector destruction on 30-4-2010 1200GMT, and the forums will be offline at the same time. Of course, you guys helped me a lot in the past so I now inform you about the situation to make sure that you would not be affected. Let's move on!

Well, before everything shuts down for good, I'd better just reveal my true feelings:

I have been completely head over heels in love with one AGS member for 4 years now. I cannot stop thinking about them every single moment of my life. I guess this is the end of that.
