I just made a forum with cool stuff. You can talk about ags or adventure games and also freeware,websites,etc.

come join and the community will thrive.

What's wrong with this forum? You can do all those things here? Why on EARTH would you try to entice people away from this already established forum to another forum no better (and possibly worse because it has no members)?

Honestly, why make something when there's no market for it? I'm bewildered.

C'mon guys... EEP offers us the possibility to go to another forum, he's not the first doing it, don't over react.

Aye. People set up their own forums all the time. In fact, many AGSers have their own forums. Gaspop Software (Pleugherburg) have their own. So does Tierra (KQ 1 + 2 remakes). Besides, it's good to visit other forums than AGS.

Yeah, so does my group, Infamous Adventures. We're making Quest For Infamy and another AGS game that remain anonymous at the moment. We have our own website and forums.

As a general rule, no, it's not outrageous to advertise for your forum here.

But too often, it's rather obvious that the person in question really hasn't any particular theme or idea behind their forum, they just want to have a forum of their own, which they can administer, because it seems cool.

A forum is something that grows around a concept, a community or some sort of theme, just like this forum was created around AGS. CJ didn't have to run around and try to convince other people to join it.

As I've said before, you need to ask yourself the question "would I join my own forum, if I didn't already own it?"
