Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

That's rather "old". If you're a fan, watch it, it's ok. Though somehow, the movie wasn't as funny to me as the book was...don't know why.
I don't want the world, I just want your half

I haven't read the books, but I like Discworld so I would say they are well worth watching. They have good production quality and they are about three hours of Discworld goodness each. There is also animated miniseries made from Wyrd Sisters and Soul Music. They are also worth watching if you are a fan.

Ghost

I just can't relate to the movie Rincewind. It's not that he does bad acting or isn't faithful to the books... but I always have a scrawny 30-somthing guy in my mind when I read the books. I liked Hogfather though. Hope they'll do a Watch movie some time.

Ehh, speak for yourself there. The animated miniseries are of questionable quality, at best. They have their moments (the theater guys trying to find Lancre, for example), but for the most part, they're pretty awkward.

However, the movies are a bit better. Hogfather is the best of the bunch by a long shot, though, and it's adapted much more faithfully than Color of Magic.

Oh, and yes, Rincewind is waaay too old. I mean, the first book outright states you could mistake him for an apprentice if it wasn't for some sort of trinket. The two Discworld adventures featuring him were... let's go with "a question of taste", they did nail the look perfectly (IMO).

Veteran English actor David Jason was well cast as Albert in the Hogfather, but they bizarrely ALSO cast him as Rincewind. Rincewind would have been better as someone in the Simon Pegg-y area.

This also means they will have trouble adapting Mort, because Albert meets Rincewing. I didn't watch the Colour of Magic through, because apart from the casting and the production design, Hogfather was very poor. It was particularly badly paced and the sound design was really dreadful.

This is quite weird. Saw this topic after reading an ancient topic at abandonia about Discworld 1 &2 becoming freeware. I guess they "still haven't got round to it. Was browsing scummvm to see if I wanted any classics on my iphone.

Nothing tempting really. I don't really play a game over and over again once I've completed it unless I'm testing. Or if the "alternative endings" supplied with some actually intrigue me.
<Babar> do me, do me, do me! :D
<ProgZMax> I got an idea - I reached in my pocket and pulled out my Galen. <timofonic2> Maybe I'm a bit gay, enough for do multitask and being romantical

Mr Flibble

I came here to say that I picture Rincewind as a young Eric Idle (games notwithstanding of course).

But now I support this Simon Pegg idea. David Jason definitely seemed like an odd choice.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!
