i just saw matrix 3 last night and it was much better than the second

Spoiler

the fight scenes went back to normal ol punchin' an' a kickin' or they just got much better at rendering a Keanu with CG. granted the ending battle was weird especially the Raging Bull punch at the end and the force of water pusing the rain into a sphere effect was used so often i stopped noticing it.

i still want to know why they can make large Alien style exoskeletons and huge underground cities and exist for years and not once did anyone invent a cotton gin or at least try and make new clothes. just cause you're in a post apocolypse doesn't mean you can't darn your socks every now and then! Either they have messed up priorities or they never played War Craft and didn't know how to work a tech tree.

and in the first movie their eating wheat paste looking nasty foods out of hastily cobbled together bowls with spoons that are made up of more than 1 part [a spoon part] and yet they have prefectly good scalpels that easily stab through people. it's a damned spoon! since there aren't any spoons in the Matrix doesn't that mean they'd create all the spoons they could in the real world?

did everyone else pick up on the idea of love? it was really subtle and you may not have noticed it...

but anyway these are random jokes, i enjoyed the movie much more than the second and there were a few predictable bits and a few stupid bits but oh well, it's an action movie.

then again i didn't like Kill Bill so who the fuck am i, right?

I gotta agree with CMonkey on his point about Neo vs. Smith ... I was like, "Wow ... he's winning, now he's losing ... now he's winning ... rinse, repeat"  It just kept happening over and over again I was getting bored.

There was FAR too much dialogue.  I don't mind a verbose movie now and again but it really cut into the flow in my opinion.   I think that if there was 20 minutes of boring dialogue it could have been done just as well in 5 minutes worth.  And if I had to hear another "You know the answer already" line I was gonna scream.  That article DG linked to said it all.

The fight for Zion was cool and I loved that general guy's screaming.  I thought it was primal and really cool.  Like he was just screaming bloody hell for the human cause.  I thought that was pretty sweet.

The ending ...

It made me want to puke.

I was one of those fans of the original who, after seeing the second one, thought, "well ... the third one will hopefully tie up loose ends" but I was rather disappointed.

When the squeeky little fellow went runnin' back to the citadel to announce their 'glorious victory' and there were still zillions of sentinals floating 50 feet above them.  I think the celebrating was a tad premature.

Rumor:
Spoiler
I read on another forum yesterday that the phone call Neo makes at the end of the first movie actually takes place after the events of the third movie.  They stated a bunch of "proof" like the date on the line trace was significantly later that the date on the line trace at the beginning of the movie.

I don't know if I buy it ... but it's a little intrigueing and might make the ending better.  ... Well ... maybe??

One of the big problems I have with the sequels is that I don't think Smith's character was originally going to be that big a part of the whole.  I think it fell into the Urkel/Dr. Malcom syndrome.  Where a character that was never intended to be a pivotal role was expanded on for audience approval.  Good for Hugo Weaving ... bad for the movies overall.

I guess it just didn't feel grand enough for me.

anyway ...

I agree with the opinion that the 15 minutes of flying and fighting were directly from Dragon Ball Z, I even thought Neo was going to make one of those Kame Hame attacks...

Anyway, I didn't like the film either, but joking about the film with friends is always fun. It would be funnier if it was cheaper, though.

Spoiler
Disliking the film won't keep me from making specs. In my opinion Neo is still alive, we see the energy of the machines when they recover the body so it must be Neo's view.

I preffer the Revolutions to reloaded, but that is not "THE MOVIE".

Matrix one was a wave of fresh air, but it seemed that everything was spoiled in the second part. The idea of a person who can act in the life as a Superhero was exciting, but pushing it to the limit with the fight with that albin brothers in "reloaded" was IMHO crappy. Same thing to the final cuts of the fight with Smith.

Now they´ve got the messure again, the fight scene at the end was clearly inspired in dragon ball, or similar, a must see...

Recommended if you want to have a good time, but if you go to the cinema looking for "T3H ANSWER" you´ll be disappointed. Everything deppends on the attitude.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!
