Oddly enough, Cat in the Hat was mentioned, and that was made into a movie recently (Thank you Mike Myers for raping my childhood) and Willy Wonka was mentioned which is being remade with Johnny Depp. That too will most likely suck.

I don't know. When I first heard about it, I thought it would probably suck, but now I've also heard (Which is confirmed on IMDB) that Tim Burton is directing it. That re-ignited my hope for the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie.

Not only that, BerserkerTails, but Danny Elfman is doing the music for it.
A movie directed by Tim Burton, with Danny Elfman writing the original soundtrack, with Johnny Depp playing lead.
The only other two movies with that combination were Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow, both of which were pretty good movies (on IMDB, Edward Scissorhands was rated 7.6/10 and Sleepy Hollow was 7.4/10).
So, while I'm not hoping for a great movie, I think it'll at least be a decent one. IMO, I couldn't imagine a better director or music writer for a remake of the movie, and I couldn't imagine a better actor to play the eccentric Willy Wonka. Johnny Depp seems to be best suited for eccentric characters (Cptn. Jack Sparrow, Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands, etc.)
