Heh, I'd rather not explain my current avatar image...
(linked for future reference)

People really should stop changing their avatars constantly just for the sake of getting a reason to post in this thread.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

I hope you're not referring to me with this post, because if so, you're wrong.

RickJ asked for my old roger-mod avatars for DemoQuest virtual member so I dug them up and decided to continue this wacky tradition of mine.

This happened before this thread.

Anyway, this reminds me one older thread...

No, I was not referring to you.

Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Or maybe it's me whom you are referring to?

Ishmael

In case you missed it, there's the word people in my post, which, last I checked, is a plural form meaning an abstract amount of persons.

Which talks for itself: Thou shalt not make sharp comments on undefined person(s). Why irritate many if there's only some you have message to?
Talk directly, man. It's an internet forum, no real punches. Behind-corner-talk is really irritating. Imagine that someone says that one of us (no name) is child rapist. How would everyone feel?

Everyone's an individual, no one considers himself/herself an abstract person or a member of abstract group. And making comments on specified groups, divided by some variable, such as race, sex, lifestyle, etc is usually viewed as bad thing nowadays and named with nice names such as antisemitism, racism, homophobia, etc. If you want to give names to a rabbit, don't say "someone with long ears" or donkeys get hurt.

lo_res_man

Well my old one was of Lenny Loosejocks from E-Zone. E-zone was my first fave gaming site back just before 9/11
However in light of the holiday season, and my great fandomness for Calvin and Hobbes I chose this Calvin avatar. His look of bewilderment and wonder in this coming holiday season matches my own.

I think people DO identify themselves with an abstract group quite often. What is patriotism or any kind of nationalism or team sport or school spirit, or cliques for that matter? We identify with our non-genetic clans all the time. We WANT to identify with those groups. Yes it is wrong to judge more on the group image rather then the person as an individual. But that doesn't mean a certain amount of affiliation with abstract groups isn't healthy.

If you feel so grave coincious pain over it, well... You know you've deserved it.

From http://www.answers.com/Stop:

Quote6.
   a. To cause to desist or to change a course of action: stopped us from continuing the argument.
   b. To prevent or restrain: stopped him from going.
7. To discontinue or cease: He stopped his complaining.

To stop - to cease, to prevent, ie. to make something not happen.

Poor, poor, puma...man. I loved that puma, man! That L'Uomo Puma was my best friend. :'(

:=

I have a brilliant idea...I'll change my avatar! :D

Tuomas

I changed to a christmassy one too because of christmas. So now it's the first version of a teenage mutant ninja turtle from the pages of the first TMNT comic.

Dualnames

Tuomas I really think you change your avatars everytime to something completely different... You used to have a grandpa then yourself then that king then a teenage turtle...

It's a parrot.
It is dead.
It is smoking a cigar.
It is currently wearing a santa hat.

Just a random uncompleted texuring job on my first decent looking 3D model. I'd change it but I'm too much of an unmotivated ass  :P.

Stupot+, is that shot of Jason from FvJ where he's in the room of the Ginger Snaps girl near the start?

(Oh, and to stay even more on-topic and explain my avatar, I need only point to my signature!)

Stupot

Wow, that's an impressive necropost :P

To be honest, I couldn't tell you which Jason film it was from, let alone which scene.  I just found it among this collection of horror-related gifs (not jifs) on Ebaums World (yes, Ebaums World still exists. I was surprised about that too) and thought it would make a cool avatar.  I got bored of Godzilla.

While we're explaining ourselves, what's the meaning of bbx1138?
