I'm worse then a lurker, I am an "over-hearer", so I kinda count as a girl of AGS. Snake's been around so long I think I am grandfathered in.....

Dual, the tragic part is Leitors will be at his funeral if he doesn't stop making it more damn complicated then it needs to be..... The notebooks with ideas and storylines are overtaking his side of the bed. Is there some kind of time line for completion??? ~~ Snakette

If I may be so bold to hijack this thread for a moment, would any of the many Girls of AGS be interested in voice acting? Because we're trying to do a voice pack for Quasar (the game in my sig), and get mostly male auditions. We need at least one more female voice to get the voice pack going. Thank you for your time

It seems that creeps always say "Pics Now" or "t*** or gtfo" whenever a poster admits to being a female. :

However, I think adventure games have a larger female fan base. What do you guys think about the portrayal of women in games?

So true. I have participated in a lot of different online forums and I always get so much crap for being female. It's almost like these guys don't meet women often.

I find it very unlikely that you would find someone on the AGS forums doing the whole "Tits or get the fuck out" routine - one of the things that I've liked about this community since I started actively contributing is that it's one of those rare civilized zones where trolls and assholes are generally summarily exiled, and the immature kids that join up and try to interact in the forum like this is YouTube or something of the like are either forced to grow up or to leave. Hell, I can think of a few great contributors to the AGS community now that came across as absolute morons when they first arrived, but were quickly housebroken.

I've generally seen the AGS community as being fairly lady-friendly, though there aren't a lot of people who openly admit to being women. Sure, there's plenty of immature ribbing that goes on which might be considered inaccessible to the more sensitive ladies about the forums, but to the credit of the AGS population at large, I can't seem to recall any specifically misogynistic behavior from anyone in particular.

I have no intent to hijack this thread, but Girls of AGS - do you consider the general feel of AGS to be as androcentric as you find in a lot of the rest of the gaming world?
