Hey Darth just remember how much I love you when you come round to getting your nominations/invites etc  ;D

Hey Darth also remember your fellow Browncoats :D This would fulfill my dream of sending or receiving a wave sometime in my lifetime, not letting my descendants getting the first crack at it!

Hey Darth also remember that I am a person who has expressed some remote amount of interest. :P

Microsoft makes the whole soul stealing process painful and leaves you feeling bitter and used in the end. Google makes it feel good and in the end it buys you a dress and tells you that it thinks you are pretty.

I want to feel pretty.

Brilliant. But only coz it's true. :)

Haha you guys are crackin' me up!

First, BIG thanks to lemmy!  I really appreciate it!

Second, IF I get the invite (and have invites to share) we'll figure something out to make sure everybody can get in there!

Stupot

I've signed up to the forums.
How are you supposed to go about getting an invite?
Just linger and hope somebody decides they like you?

Invites are fun. I wish I had one.  :=

Wait, that was an awful way of putting my name down. Bugger...

I'm not sure. I got this message:

"youre invited to join to google wave http://googlewaveinvites.com/invite/humanCheck.php?viewType=fcfs
"
but somehow it seemed a little dodgy. Following my previous post, I'd actually recommend against this site. Anyone can see your email so proceed at your own risk
<Babar> do me, do me, do me! :D
<ProgZMax> I got an idea - I reached in my pocket and pulled out my Galen. <timofonic2> Maybe I'm a bit gay, enough for do multitask and being romantical

I have some invite "nominations" to give away. Does anyone still need one?

So I'm in Google Wave now... And I can't for the life of me think of what to use it for... Me and some friends from work talked on it for a few minutes, went back to work and forgot about it

anyone actually using it?

This seems like the kind of thing that would only be useful for business purposes. Otherwise, it's like putting a toddler in a full-sized video game arcade; there's only so much the toddler can do with what he sees.

I actually agree. I think once it becomes more developed (extensions) it may appeal to people for more reasons. In it's current form it only seems to be collaborative tool.

I think for a team working on an adventure game it could be really useful. Instant feedback and modifications to images, documents, code, etc.

Setting up an AGS "wave" where we use it like a giant interactive chatroom could also be interesting.

I'm hoping to use it to expand networks at my job. I'm a web developer in a university with possibly hundreds of other web developers and I work with and collaborate with no one. It is not a very productive environment for me or the university.

I think it is one of those tools a lot like "twitter". Either you get it or you don't get it. However, I think "get it" is a weighted term in this case. I think "get it" means it is actually useful to your workflow. I use twitter as a micro RSS feed and very seldom tweet myself. I imagine Google Wave will eventually fill this kind of adapted role for many people.

I see it more as a extension of google docs in a way. With a lot more features than an office suite could ever provide.

EDIT: Nomination sent Khris. If you get in you have to repay me by going to Berlin and giving all of the Ableton developers a hug. :)

I use Digsby currently to "pull everything together". It may not be GoogleWave, but it works well for me to keep track of my multiple email accounts, Facebook, Twitter, and (hopefully soon,) Skype account.

Still, I think I'd like to have a GoogleWave account and GoogleVoice account to play with. I love trying new things... (That's how I found Digsby.com;D

I was a bit overwhelmed with Google Wave ... it appears to have so many features that I kind of got lost.  I can see it as a way to sort of replace IM, ICQ, MSN, etc (maybe; people are resistant to change).  I have to agree with those who've already said it the most practical application I can see for it is for work purposes.  A public AGS wave would be cool too.

I am usually skeptical about new things that claim so much "future changing" ... but Google hasn't let me down before so I'm still waiting to see where this goes.  My brother and I enjoyed a nice game of competitive Sudoku.  Surely that counts for something?

Ptraci

I've been curious about Wave since the first video was released. If anyone's got some invitations left, I'd love to get one ^_^ At Gmail I'm also Ptraci.

Everyone's saying it's so great for project management and collaborative work that I'd love to test it with some of the translation projects I have going at the moment.

I don't like the system they've been using to give invitations in exchange for ReTweets based on the number of times people posted the same thing on Twitter. It generates a lot of noise.

juncmodule

Nomination done Ptraci. Just a note to clarify. These are nominations that invited people can give out, not actual invites. So, there is no guarantee that you will get an invite. It just greatly increases the odds I imagine.

I would still recommend signing up here:

https://services.google.com/fb/forms/wavesignup/

As far as I know I was never nominated for an invite. I only used that form.

My gmail name is juncmodule, so if anyone else on here has an account, "Wave" me :)

I signed up months ago, but I haven't heard from them yet.

Thank you for the nomination! I hope it works ^_^
