I've just had a talk on stress and we had to fall asleep while he talked to us. I think we got hypnotized as Ive never kind of dreamt like that before and he said that we were sleeping for 25mins when it felt like 2. And also i havent stopped simling since and been in a happier mood. Just wondering if you have been hypnotized before? And if this is normal after someone has been hypnotized?

You didn't find any sour cream in your underwear did you?

Have you ever turned off the capslock key?

Please change the thread title, thanks.

Sounds like you're describing an "enema", not "hypnosis".

A lot of the group hypnosis things are jokes... the way it works in these big production shows is that once on the stage, the hypnosis quietly, quickly explains that you just pretend to be hypnotized and do what he says. Otherwise if you don't want to play along with the game, just walk off the stage.

It allows people the chance to do anything they want and out-of-character things and not regret it, because after all, they were under hypnosis.

The people don't spoil the secret, of course, otherwise that could be quite embarassing for them...

Now I'm not saying that all group hypnosis is like this, just some. There IS such a thing as real hypnosis, don't get me wrong...

Hypnotized... well, kind of. I did it myself.
Try not to sleep for 52 hours!

Seeing a dream while being awake - just with some weird dream crossfaded onto what eyes really see?

And the dream is totally controllable, I could be superman with just at will?

Sitting down for 5 minutes, (I could swear it felt no more than 5 minutes!!!) and realizing that you've been sitting like this for 3 hours without moving?

Other similar time warps, a sort of bullet time?

Total sound slowdown! I can't explain or describe this. My ears just heard everything slowed down  :P

Instant amnesia periods, where you have no idea what happened few hours ago?

Etc...

Cool, but dangerous and painful. Don't try at home!

I've had experiances like that Increator, but I was running a crazy fever for like a week and was working my ass off at a tire store. I remember just feeling detached from my body and hearing people say things that weren't really being said. It was crazy, and luckily I started barfing everywhere so my boss finally decided to let me go home sick...

Back in the mid 80's i once stayed up for almost 2 days straight. It was the most screwed up feeling i ever had.  All i can remember now is how everything seemed so unreal and how i didn't have any perception of time. For me what felt like 6 am was really late at night. It was really screwed up. I would never try that again.

In the army I stayed up for about 48 hours. Those 48 hours started with being on the field and having the nightshift for guard duty. After various camp activities, a 15-kilometer (9,5 mi) full-pack march was conducted in the evening. We walked through the night and set up camp. No sleep. We 'woke up' and marched to the barracks. It was morning then.

To our dismay, after the marching my group was transfered straight from the field to base guard duty. There was a surprise baton training for all available guard duty men during the day. The same evening, we had an exercise to stop cars going over the speed limit. During this exercise, the 48 hours were nearing it's close. I was all mixed up. I couldn't keep my eyes open and I was drifting from place to place, finding myself kind of jumping from a position to another position some meters away without knowing I was moving. I also remember I was almost foaming at the mouth as I was looking at the soft grass near me. But the fear of getting shouted at kept me sane. So at midnight we were relieved and I actually couldn't get any sleep. Once I did, I slept for 5 hours and in the morning I was really energized and perky.

During the first 24 hours of the ordeal I literally had nothing to eat. There was absolutely no time to make food and I was physically too tired to even think about it. It was definately one of the weirdest experiences of my life.

My hypnotist died while bringing me back down and because of that, I've been on a high ever since, and haven't completed any of my work at Initech. If I don't shape up and get those TPS reports done correctly, I may be fired.... or maybe they'll give me a promotion.

There's a guy who goes by the name TPSReports on another forum I frequent, and everytime Office Space gets mentioned here, which is semi-frequently, I think of mentioning him and then I remember you guys don't know who he is :/

But hypnosis, yes... I mean, no. Never been hypnotised. I have a slightly curiosity about it, but I don't really want to be. I hate that idea of being out of control and not drunk.

Snarky

Heh. When I was a kid, I was fascinated by hypnosis, and scared witless by the idea of being drunk.

Considering that I've never been hypnotized, and that I'm drunk as I'm writing this, I guess you could say things did not work out as expected.

Hypnosis... I should get around to that sometime.

Mugs

All of us experienced hypnosis at one time or another, we just didn't realize it.  Have you ever watched a movie?  If so, you might have been hypnotized watching it.  If you felt the emotions of the actors(stress, anger, joy, etc.), you have experienced a type of hypnosis.
Cool stuff I found out: Men are four times more likely to be struck by lightning than women.  Wow, really? [dirty joke] Maybe this has to do with the fact that us men have "lightning rods"? [/dirty joke]

Pesty

I've never been hypnotized (outside of self-hypnosis), but I was taught how to hypnotize people in high school. It's actually fairly easy, as long as the person being hypnotized is willing. It is a power I have saved for when I need to battle a super villian.

I hold the power to fondle you all. Maybe I already have, you would never know!

No no, Galactus doesn't bother to control anyone. He uses a herald to find the tastiest planets, but this is a willing volunteer who has control over the POWER COSMIC. Such as the Silver Surfer, or Aunt May.

I know who he is!  I frequented that board a long time ago, but now only lurk it because I'm terrified of the people there...  :-X  I guess my daikon isn't big enough...

Uh-oh.

Uh, please don't take the crap I write there seriously ^_^ It's my shit-talking outlet!
