I don't know where else to turn to...
The problem is my poor English.
I'm trying to find a word to describe an object, a piece of music actually, that has the ability to corrupt.
The Noun for persons or objects of corruption.
It doesn't have to have the same root (corrupt). Anything.

Just to be clear. It has nothing to do with sexual or anything like that.
I'm trying to find out how to call someone who turns everything into Evil.

Any help, please?

Let's see

A demonic piece of music.

An insidious piece of music.

A subversive piece of music.

Hope that helps a bit.

Noun? I'm not a native English speaker, so I would appreciate correction, but here are the words I found in my 30-yr old dictionary:

Corrupt (as in, a corrupt person);
Corrupter (he who corrupts, I guess, I'd never seen this one);
Corruptible (as in, that person can be corrupted, he's corruptible);
Corruptive (beats me).

EDIT - For some reason, "Corruptible" has stuck in my mind...

Could it be ... subliminal? Or not?

I know exactly what you're talking about, but I can't seem to think atm.

exactly!

That's my problem. And i don't like corrputer... (I don't even know if such a word exists.)

Usually when talking about friends, music, comic books, situations etc. that you believe have a detrimental effect on, say, your child, you might term them corrupting influences.

It doesn't roll off the tongue though. A single word would be more pleasing in it's unity.

How about stuff like "That sort of music corrupts modern youth", rather than "That sort of music is whatever"?

Something to do with poison??
(Not a native speaker, but "poisonous " is my idea for this sort of things...)

YES!

Exactly that. I'm trying to write music that corrupts youth. Exactly that. That is why I'm searching for a single word-term to name my song (actually an orchestral piece).

The reason for that piece is that I don't believe that any music can corrupt youthfull minds. And I'm trying to see how far can I go in the opposite direction. Talk about weird ideas :P

music that poisons the mind?
I think Zor is closest with "subliminal", but "subliminal" also has the effect that it was done secretly. Music that corrupts needn't be like that

Oh. In that case, consider "Corruptible". Sounds sorta right to me.

heh...but Rui...it's the people that are corruptible. Not the music. The music is what DOES the corrupting

Maybe I'm thinking in Portuguese terms and grammar. Or, most likely, I'm just making a huge mess in my mind. In either case, nevermind.

If you're thinking more along the lines of 'defile', that's a pretty cool two-dollar word you could use. The context of defile, of course, is to make something unclean or to profane it. Something along the lines of:

Defiler

Though that almost sounds like a program for mass file deletion, or something like that. Oh well. That's the best I could come up with at present.

Additional: Was I the only one who immediately assumed this was a thread on advice to summon elder horrors, from the title?

Actually now that I think about it, maybe it sounds a little bit like advice to summon elder horrors... sorry for that and thank you all

Ah, now in elder horrors I can help. Try the Necronomicon.

possibly, you could just say "bad seed", which can be used to term a person who corrupts those around them. Possibly.

Might not be quite what you're after but how about deleterious or malefic?
