Yes, it's true! They are making another Indy movie. On May 2008 Indiana Jones 4 will be in the cinema. Filming will begin in June 2007.

Wasn't Portman supposed to play his daughter? I never thought they meant for her to be the love interest of grandpa Ford but rather Marion's daughter or something.

OT for a moment, but movie related - apparently the Pirates 3: At World's End trailer is out today, but I can't find it (only fan-made crappy poos on YouTube) -- does anyone know of a place to view it yet? IMDB used to be really good for trailers but it seems now they just link to external websites

It seems that the rumor last July was indeed that Portman should play Indy and Marion's daughter. Somehow I'm glad that didn't pan out. Daughter or not, Karen Allen had better be in it though. As long as it doesn't also mean that Mrs. Spielberg will be making a reappearance and (almost) ruin yet another Indy movie.

Portman just doesn't seem 'Indy' enough. She's not really sassy enough, or tough enough to be in Indiana Jones. I also read about a rumour that Shia LeBouf is signing on to play as Indy's son, but he denied it.

It makes sense to me. It's not like they're adding a little kid; they're talking about a full-grown, adult son. It HAS been 26 years since "Raiders".

I'm against it primarily because it's a marketing maneuver to try and keep an opportunity open for the franchise to continue, a trend with action hero films I'd like stopped before it starts. It would be like them making another Die Hard with just McClane's son after the upcoming one.

Who the hell would care to see it? I wouldn't.
