Ok read my ol favorite about the olympic games..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Titor

If you get to search google more you'll find a number of events he said that will happen one of them is that the last olympic games are those of Athens. What if those Olympic games don;t happen..what will you say..?

(This is a very stupid post mind you.)
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

I'm so majorly unimpressed by "future-tellers" like this one.

He and his followers claim that if events don't turn out like his predictions, it's because we're in a new, parallel timeline and the events he spoke about instead will take place in another time-line (just to make sure he can't be proven wrong).
So if events that fail to take place cannot prove that he's wrong, why is it interesting to talk about the events that actually take place?
Not that they actually do take place, but still.

Sounds like an interesting guy... He's probably hoping that some of this stuff will come true on the off chance.

If The Beijing games don't happen (and I can see no reason yet why they won't), then that still won't make Athens the last... Britain will be hosting the games in 2012 2013 2015... whenever they sort the fucking public transport out and actually start building London to look like the pretty pictures they drew ages ago.

If Heathrow Terminal 5 and Wembley are anything to go by, we probably won't be holding the Olympics... but still... I'm sure Athens won't be the last... that's a really bold statement.

I've noticed one rule of the Universe, which I often exploit nowadays:

"If something is predicted, then after a month, after a year, maybe after a century, it's going to happen"

Really?

Well then, I think I'm going to be a god, then.  ;)

What about those who predicted the world would end in the year 2000... they were wrong... and we'll never have a year 2000 again.

My old form tutor predicted that I would wind up being a lawyer... he was wrong aswell.

Stupot, the number 2000 is just an arbitrary thing humans decided on. We could at some point decide to start counting over again when we get to like the 10,000's. Then there will be another year 2000. Or another religion will pop up that says that god counts years every 1000 years so in the year 2,000,000 is when the world will REALLY end.

OR... the world has already ended and we are just living in the aftermath.

MrColossal

OR the world hasn't even started yet and we're still setting up the stage for the real players...

Yeh but the chances that the world ending on a year 2000 on any given calendar are still pretty slim.

Or another theory:
Whatever happens, it was already predicted by someone.

Let's say that the world will end on 2016. Someone must have already predicted this; while others were predecting it to be earlier than 2016 or later than 2016. And when the world ends in 2016, he can say "Look! I had predicted this, I was right. LOL!".

This applies for the whole predictions; an event happens and someone will say he knew this.

Wow, that's epic. That could've led to an alternate reality game, but I don't think they were around then.

MrColossal

Jon Titor kind of was an alternate reality game thing kind of...

Dude posted on a forum "I am a time traveler, ask me questions" so people did and he made up a bunch of stuff and photoshopped some pictures and people fed him questions and theories and he fed the people supposed answers to the future and such.

As was stated he always had an "out" that we could avoid everything he predicted because of *reasons reasons* but it was quite sensational in certain internet circles when it was going on. The same amount of discussion about that happened with other early alternate reality games before people got savvy to them as marketing, I would guess. Jon Titor just wasn't selling anything, just doing it for fun.
