No no, I may not remember his exact quote, but I'm 100% sure he takes a leak on someone when he defeats them.

So I think maybe he did both things. That rogue.

I remember a moment in Duke Nukem where he fights a boss and then threatens he's going to kill him and then piss on his corpse.

Yeah, it's the boss of the 2nd mission. When the boss first appears, he yells "I'm gonna rip off your head, and sh*t down your neck!". Then after you kill him, there's a cut scene where he rips the head off, lowers his pants and sits down like he's on a toilet. He even opens up a newspaper!

I can also remember the funniest line in the game - maybe I remember it because I only heard him say it once, and I was so suprised because I thought I had heard all of his quotes. I fired an RPG into a room full of those damn facehugger things, blowing a bunch of them up. Duke yells, "Let God sort 'em out!" I think I had to pause until I stopped laughing.

Another good one (from the deathmatches): "Your face? Your ass? What's the difference!"

You're not getting confused with Usual Suspects, are you (Kaiser Soze pissing on the fuse)?  :)

ManicMatt

No I'm not! Either time to kill, or land of babes had him seen from behind peeing and the sound effects of peeing were played! I've never seen him go for a crap!

LGM

My enjoyment of the one-liners is tainted because they're all "borrowed" from movies and such. A substantial amount from the Evil Dead series.
You. Me. Denny's.

I can't get the page with the high-res pack to open.  Is there a direct link to the file so I can save-target as?

Yeah, I actually played this game before seeing Army of Darkness. When I finally saw it, I felt like I watching some kind of live-action Duke.

Has anybody tried the hi-res pack?

ManiacMatt, I was just messing around. He may piss on something in those games, but I've only ever played Duke Nukem 3D. If you want to see it, check out this video I found on YouTube. It shows all the cut scenes from the end of each episode. Episode 2, where he takes the crap, starts at 0:40. Enjoy!

ManicMatt - thought you were talking about duke3d, that's what I and EagerMind were refering to.
As for Manhattan Project I don't want to play it because it's action Tomb Raider style and I don't want to ruin my duke experience. I'll b ewaiting for Duke4ever (whenever).

ManicMatt

Haha he took a crap! Not as funny as the piss scene, but then I AM looking at really old animation AND I already knew he was going to do that, so ruined on me a bit!

So neither of you had played those games... *bangs head against wall*

I did remember that I also got into Static-X via "Land of the babes"

Thankyou 3D Realms!

I've played Duke Nukem Manhattan Project. It's a 3Dish sidescroller, not very Tomb Raiderish. Didn't find it all that interesting or innovative, but...yeah.

Now, with his very own game: Alien Time Zone

Manhattan Project is basically a 2D side-scrolling platform shoot'em up with 3D graphics.

It's alright for about ten minutes play, but get seriously repeditive.

The Hi-Def pack for Duke Nukem 3D is fun, and works pretty well. As does the one for Shadow Warrior.

Yeah, I just installed the high-res pack, with the 3D models, and it is AWESOME!   :o

It's way more satisfying to blow the sh*t out of a 3D model than a fuzzy, 2d sprite.

Also, Duke3D for the PC comes with the awesome BUILD level editor, which you can make your own levels. Back in 1996 i tried working on some cool levels, which were awesome, and also fun to make, but unfortunately the BUILD editor will not work in WinXP. (tried to make levels again recently)  There was a BUILD editor for XP which you can find online, but was missing about 90 percent of the textures needed to build a decent level.

My favorite was "Time to Kill" for the PS1. Great game.

EagerMind

Domino, check out this page. I believe it's a win32 (and linux) port of the build engine.

If you look around the site, he also has ports so you can play Shadow Warrior and Duke3d natively in win32 environments. Another one (that I've tried out) is EDuke32.

You still have to have the original games to use these. Bsaically you replace a couple of the original files with these new ones and you can launch the programs directly in WinXP.

I loved Duke Nukem and all his pals. Cosmic Cosmo, Commander Keen, Johnny Dash...
Sometimes I miss Apogee. But then I remember that the spirit of the old-timey 2D platfomers lives on in free games like Cave Story and Lyle in Cube Sector.
